SOLVED. Y/A or children's book: boy finds wishbone and then the inside of his house turns to the outdoors [s]

I read this book about 30 years ago. I believe the boy found a wishbone in a trash can. He goes home and wishes that his house would turn into the outdoors. The carpet starts to turn into grass. A river starts to form in his living room.
