Teen fiction book about a girl who learns Japanese flower arranging in a flower shop and falls in love with the owner's grandson. Her grandson has a Japanese father and an American mother. He's in college and she's in high school.

Her grandmother lives with her and her family and she has diabetes. She lets it get so bad that her grandmother has to have her foot amputated.

Think the book was published between 1990 and 1992.
