I also live in the south and it is very humid today. I would love to go somewhere that has buildings centuries old and so much history as the norm. I wonder if the rainy weather there is as bad for the hair as the humidity is bad for it .

Kathryn (sscarllet) | 72 comments It really doesn't rain all the time in the UK. I can only remember once or twice in the last 6 months that I had to walk to or from work in the rain.

What we do seem to have that I find maddening is a lack of 'real' weather in the South East. (This is not to belittle anyone who lives in the west of the country that has been getting horrible flooding). It never gets that hot, or that cold. I would have never thought that I'd want to be back in a scorching hot New York City type of summer day, but I really do.

As it is, it is towards the end of June and it might not reach 70 today. Bleh.

MissJessie | 37 comments You are right Tina, just having the potential is a great comfort. That's why I like to keep so many different and varied TBR's; who knows what you'll be in the mood for if and when said mood strikes. Which is why there are also half a dozen books in the bathroom as well :)

Melissa | 363 comments I keep a book shelf in the corner of my kitchen where I put the books I plan on reading next, This started as a place to have a couple of books on it that I planned on reading after I finished what I was currently reading or group reads that I was going to join her on GR and now it has taken on a life of its own.

I went to return a book to the library today and a bunch of books I asked them to find for me had all come in at once. I now have 13 library books on that shelf and 15 books that I own from my shelves on my TBR next shelf as well as a sticky note with 5 kindle books listed on it that I know I wanted to read soon.

I'm waffling between tickled pink, finding it funny and slightly worried that I may have a problem.

K | 286 comments This has happened on my bedside table. First I just put a few 'next reads' there, now I have two great big piles there!

Lára | 175 comments Haha, nice thread

I do keep an order in my TBR folder (as in all of the other folders, I'm neat).

Most of the books I'm interested into go to my maybe shelf, anyway. Only special ones go to my TBR, and I pick books from that list all the time (or, at least, I'm trying very hard!), so here's my defense: To-be-read shelf serves its purpose in my case!
(All the other shelves I have serve their purpose as well.)

;)

edit: there should be "how to get to my/your TBR list"
+
A reading life is a rich experience that isn’t limited to the actual act of reading- it’s also wandering through the library and being suddenly aware of how loudly you walk.

I really like it

My good read TBR shelves are very nice and orderly.... I sometimes wish my physical shelves were as ordered they tend to get cluttered quickly.

Linda "The Book Lady" Warner I have TBR pilles on my bookcase head board but I also have ashelf in my home library. Many of these are not on my GR TBR list. These are books I want to read and have bought because I want them in my library

I put currently reading in a book bag I bring with me assorted places, and also books to be read soon on my desk. In my bedroom on the nightstand I keep borrowed books from a friend of mine separate from my other books.
