SOLVED. High School Sci-fi book [s]

Not sure on the title, another I read in high school (mid to late 90's), and I think title is similar to the Midnight Room, but only one I can find is by the wrong author. If is correct title, would like to know the correct author to find the right book.

It is about this group of high schoolers who go to scientists lab (maybe for a school project? one was reporter for the school newspaper). The scientist has created a computer run simulation, that through extrapolation creates the 10 year reunion for the students, and they go through it. As each student goes through it, one of them is reported as having died mysteriously, and it changes as order of the stude3nts changes. It later turns out that a previous lab assistant had installed a virus into the computer, that causes after a certain number of uses, the simulation causes the user's heart to stop. Any help would be appreciated.
