Oh, and a bit more about me: I'm 28, a stay-at-home mom, with a four year old daughter, a two year old son and a husband who is very patient with my large pile of library books that he constantly trips over :).
Off to re-read the rules!

Hey there. My name is Lori. I'm 52, which is still hard for me to believe because that used to sound ancient, now not so much. :) I love the challenge that I found on another group and was looking for more like it. I've read the instructions but still trying to figure it out. Looks like you are in the midst of the Fall Challenge so I may wait to jump in till December. I'll just keep checking things out.

I'm Faith, I'm 21, I'm in my final year at uni studying Zoology with Conservation & I write a blog at StudentSpyglass

My name's Cathie, I live Canada - Toronto, Ontario and this book club intrigued me because of all the challenges. I work a lot of overnight shifts (rehab centre) and spend many days groggy curled up with good books. I'm not sure I understand what to do, but I'm pretty sure I'm right on time to begin the winter 2012 challenge.
I look forward to conversations shared :-)
Thanks for letting me be a part of your group.

My name is Jennifer. I live in Illinois, about 20 minutes east of St Louis, MO. I am mom to 3 kids, ages 18, 9, and 6. I am currently unemployed so am enjoying my time at home!! I have never done a reading challenge, but this looks like alot of fun. I think I understand how to do this but will probably have some questions :). I look forward to making some new friends here and partaking in your discussions.

Stefanie

I am just in time to start the new challenge!

I read as much as I can as often as I can. I enjoy various different kinds of books especially romantic mysteries and thrillers.
I now read my Kindle predominantly and hope that I will be able to read most of my challenge books on there but not entirely sure if this is possible. I do still read print books but lack of space has limited my purchasing power more recently.
Thank you for the work that goes into the challenges and good luck to everyone.

Hi my name is Marguerite and I love to read and have since I was in 3rd grade (54 yrs old now). If it looks good, sounds good I will read it. Most women love to buy clothes, shoes, books are what I buy.lol Hubby tells everyone that he knows that when we go to a bookstore he knows I will be spending money. Potato chip ads say you can't eat just one, well I can't just buy one book.rofl Count me in on the winter challenge.

I've been reading since I was a little kid. I mostly read YA paranormal books with an emphasis on Vampires and YA historical fiction. I also would like to say that I have loved vampires since I was a kid and wayyy before the twilight vampire crazy. I like my vampires old fashioned- none of this glittering in the sun stuff. My favorite book is Nevermore by Kelly Creagh (Ironically it has nothing to do with vampires). I love Kelly Creagh's Nevermore series and shes one of my favorite authors. I also love the Tiger's Curse Series by Colleen Houck. I love Amelia Atwater Rhodes, especially her vampire novels. I have also loved R.L. Stine since I was a kid and I still do.
I am a challenge addict and I can't wait to start this challenge.

I am new to the challenge, but looking forward to finding new titles and authors based on the challenges and your recommendations.
Happy reading!
Hello, I'm also new around here and I think this will be a great place to find new and different titles I would probably not read elsewhere.

-Elizabeth

I love reading and think the best way to relax is with a cup of tea and a good book! Or my Kindle as I don't have a lot of shelf space! I'm now addicted to reading challenges and keep finding more to take part in!!
I'm involved in Girl Guiding and St John Ambulance in my spare time which I really really enjoy along with cross stitch and crochet!

I mostly read science fiction (all sub-genres), fantasy (but avoid the elves and dwarves), and non-fiction (medicine, psychology, languages, history, astronomy, and whatever else looks interesting).

I look forward to participating in the spring challenge!

OMG, I know. This looks so awesome. I saw you guys talking about it in the RRRC awhile ago and I kept checking it out, telling myself that I didn't need another challenge...especially one of this magnitude, but as you can see, I clearly didn't listen to myself.

About me: I'm a high school special education teacher--English. Reading has always been my favorite way to decompress, but I read in fits and starts depending on job duties. My idea of the perfect vacation is sitting on a beach and finishing at least a book a day. I mostly read romance, mystery, young adult and school-related anything. I have two grown children and a husband. Right now under the roof, I also have three grandkitties and two grandpuppies as my daughter has temporarily moved back in as her husband has accepted a new job across the country.

I am a research attorney so I do a lot of reading, but not much of it is for fun. Now is the time to even the reading field. I have been thinking about taking on a challenge for quite some time, and I finally decided to go for it. I am very excited!

I'm Karen, 52, from Atlanta, GA. I live with a geriatric cat and an amazing roommate who often cooks wonderful meals and serves them up to me when I am in my reading chair, forgetting to eat. How'd I get so lucky? Sometimes I obsess about knitting as much as I obsess about reading, and then it's audiobooks for me, so I can multitask. I'm on the Boxall 1001 challenge, so I am certain may of those titles will end up on my lists.

I have always loved to read from the time I started until now. I'm more of a "general reader" meaning I like to read from all genres. I can't guarantee I will like all books from genres but I like to at least give them a try. There are books I was surprised to find I enjoyed just by doing so. I am fairly new to reading challenges but am enjoying them thoroughly so far.
Hi, all my first time in this group looks like fun. my name is delmy and i am soon to be out of school, thought i'd pick up some reading! and challenges, the challenges look complicated so i would appreciate any guidance everyone!

I'm kind of lurking, checking out the boards so I'll be ready for the summer challenge! Will have lots of reading time then!

Hello Everyone. My name is Talia, I'm 34 years old, and I live in Arizona. I am single, no kids, no pets, and I work for a court reporting firm. I wish there were more hours in the day so I could finish a book each day. You'd think I'd have a lot of free time for reading not having any kids, but I have a long commute to Phoenix each day, and listening to audiobooks while driving usually makes me sleepy. So I have my nose in a book every chance I get. I just heard about this group from someone in another group, so I'm so glad I'm just in time for the summer challenge. Looking forward to joining in!

Sheila wrote: "Welcome Talia. Have you started figuring out what books that you want to read fit which tasks yet? To me new task day is like Christmas coming 4 times a year!"
Hi Sheila. Yes, I was on the computer for hours last night finding books to meet the tasks. I have the 30-point tasks left to figure out, and then I'm ready for June!

After signing up, I searched for some groups to join and came across the SRC. I have tried book clubs in the past but the members wanted to discuss their personal lives instead of the actual book. So I am looking forward to reading about what everyone else is reading! I had a habit of buying books in college but never read them so I am now getting through my collection. I was so happy that most of the books I already own fit the task descriptions:)
Thank you the all the moderators for putting together this challenge!

I used to do these challenges when it was going on the TNBBC page. Forgot all about it till I was going through my books and saw the reading challenge listed on there. Can't wait to join in on the fun and get some new books read for the summer.
