Updated post #7.

Diane | 1234 comments That is such a dark series. I really liked it and feel like it has not received enough attention. I stopped to take a break after Book 3 and never picked it up again. Maybe I should finish for this challenge.

Finished - Splintered (Splintered, #1) by A.G. Howard - book on my TBR list over 6 months. Really struggled through this one but it's done and I will stop there with this series.

Very dark series, indeed. Book 4 takes a path that I didn't expect, but the plot twist does make sense. I can only read about one book per year because the content is very disturbing.

Candice (locomonobano) | 78 comments Was on vacation and couldn't figure out how to update through the phone app... oh well, managed to finish a few with all the wonderful reading time!

Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe, #1) by Rosamund Hodge - finished 10.30.16 - amazing! - has been on TBR since 01.15.14
Serial Hottie by Kelly Oram - finished 11.02.16 - bleh. At least I can say I read it - has been on TBR since 02.19.13
Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder - finished 11.06.16 - very entertaining, I had to start the sequel instead of reading my next challenge book! - has been on TBR since 04.14.12

updated post 28

As a side note, I see that we can read a non YA book. Does that mean ANY non YA, or does it need to be Adult? It seems like everyone who has utilized this category has read Adult. I would really like to finally finish a comedian's biography I have been "currently reading" for two years now but I want to make sure it applies before I torture myself.

I remember that being rough. I wanted to like it so badly! Have you read any successful 'alice in wonderland' re-tellings?

I felt the same way. The Looking Glass Wars was an Alice book I really enjoyed, and I'm dying for Heartless to be released too.

I've never found an Alice retelling that I like! I've read the Looking Glass Wars and just couldn't love it. Not horrible or anything but it didn't work. I've often thought about writing one myself! It's such a rich and amazing story with so much potential and I don't understand why it never gets retold right.

Oddly, the best "retelling" of the Alice story I think is in the PC Video game "Alice" it was actually very good the way they retold the story. Twisted, but oddly enjoyable.

Also, I added one of my own. Finally jumped back into a mystery series that I'd fallen off over a year ago. Adult.

Hi Ashley! I think I fixed your listing? Though looking at your original listing, it seems you may have read 4 books already, and I only had you listed as reading 1! Is 4 correct?

Please make sure that you post a new message each time you finish a book (or books), even if you're updating your original post :)

So did you end up reading the 3rd one? I realized shortly after finishing Perfect Scoundrels that I'm pretty sure they never explain what the W.W. stands for in Hale's name! Or, they did explain it, but I was only half paying attention. I was wondering if you read it and focused more than I did haha

No I never ended up reading it and I don't think I will. That would be annoying if she never ended up explaining what W.W. stands for. Anyone else read it and knows what it means? Are you sure it's the last book?

I read Perfect Scoundrelsand no, they don't tell you what his initials stand for. And the author has said there may be a fourth book, but as far as I know she's not currently working on it.

And, I just found out that they released a novella (book# 3.5) this month. But, according to the reviews, still no full name.

message 135: by Emily (new)

Emily (librarylil) | 358 comments Yeah, I think that series just kind of fell by the wayside. I liked it, though not as much as Gallagher Girls. And if there isn't another book, I'm annoyed that we never found out Hale's name.

I finished Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J. Maas after reading the first one in May of 2015.

Kelly (kellyleanna) So I accidentally completed a second round of this challenge (yay!). I tend to randomly pick a book from my "owned" shelves in between library books and it just so happened that a lot of my recent ones fit this challenge. It feels good to clean up my shelves, even if it's only a little.

Half Lost (The Half Bad Trilogy, #3) by Sally Green - 11/3 (series); Me Since You by Laura Wiess - 11/10 (owned); Starling (Starling, #1) by Lesley Livingston - 11/15 (owned); Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë - 11/15 (started, non-YA); Cat Girl's Day Off by Kimberly Pauley - 11/20 (owned); Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider - 11/22 (TBR)
