SOLVED. Thriller/potential paranormal about a couple who are burgled, go to PAris, get swindled and return to their now spooky home. [s]

I saw this book in WHSmith in the airport yesterday and meant to remember the name and now can't find it... it had a black cover with the main focus being the title (something like 'The Apartment'... The *something*!)

The plot was a couple were violently burgled in their home, so decide to get away through a house swap scheme in Paris. On arriving however, the Paris apartment is a complete dump and they can't contact the owners. When they return to their own home, they are now incredibly uncomfortable and feel something strange is going on (unclear whether this was spooky scary or spooky supernatural).

Any help appreciated!
