I've finished my first, Holy Disorders, by Edmund Crispin, which I'm using as "Once upon a Crime" as it was set during World War II.The author's name is also an alias.
Initially appears quite cozy, but includes some quite disturbing adult themes.

This book was not written under a pen name so it doesn't work for Aliases and Alibis. She did write romance novels under the pen name Mary Westmacott. GR classifies some of those as romance and mystery. Those will work for Aliases & Alibis, the others don't.

I just finished
for Tickled to Death. This series has really clever mysteries with a lot of humor as well.
We are in the process of traveling to away football games and sight seeing along the way. Not much reading getting done! We will be home by Thanksgiving.
Just finished Sidney Chambers and the Perils of the Night for Once Upon a Crime. The story takes place in 1953 when the Berlin Wall was built.
Correction. Sidney Chambers and the Peril of the Night by James Runcie took place between 1955 - 1961.
I can see why Old Bones won the Edgar. What a fine read. I am down to the last 34 pages. This the first book in this series I have read, it won't be the last.
Just finished
for Holiday Homicide. It was a flashback story about a murder of an unpopular woman, who preyed on married men. Apparently, her seductive costume while playing Mrs Clause, put someone over the edge.
