Breathers in between grim dark fantasy?

I've largely quit grim dark all together these days.
In the past I've read a lot of it though.
Jim Butcher is a good one though. Not just Dresden that you mentioned, but any of his books.
Discworld books are good. Short and usually pretty funny. Those NPC book we read here were good too.

I liked the "So You Want to be a Wizard" series too.

Combining both crime novel and historical fiction I am planning to go back and read the Cadfael series - I've seen the BBC show but never read the books. The books are nice and short and many are on Kindle Unlimited. A Morbid Taste for Bones

Recently I've been reading the Percy Jackson series and Dresden files in between John Gwynne's malice & Valour. At times I read popcorn sci fi like jack Campbell lost fleet series.
So just wondering what everyone else reads or if they don't take a break from grim dark at all?
