I was hoping for more from this book, but I enjoyed it. Not too bad for an M/M/F, but there just wasn't enough content to make it really good for me. This is often a problem for me with this series. The books just aren't long enough to give me a complete story.

Main Singer Plays Bass in a Band

What can I say except that I absolutely loved this book. The story is mainly told from the male lead character point of view (Graham Allen). I really enjoyed following him through the novel - as must novels I read, its following the female lead. Allen is a rough around the edges type of male, who takes crap from no one and is notorious for his one night stands. That all changes when he meets Carly Sullivan.
I loved the dynamics between the two characters, Carly never taking the bull from Graham and how they didn't immediately fall in love. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride the characters took to find their journey to love. I really liked the pet name that Graham named Carly - "Hummingbird".
Overall, this book was a great read and I was glad that I was given the opportunity to review. Bartel does a great job of staying true to the characters and never sold them short of a great story.

Option 2 key date: 8 January 2014 (must be rated at least 3 stars, and you can't go back further than this 'date read' if you select from a team-member's bookshelf)
To show that your book qualifies for option 1 (the theme) you must include a link to the post where the book is mentioned in the 'What Are You Reading' thread.

Review:
Sarah, aka Mims is a famous romance author, her newest book is a western, so to make it authentic she signs up at a dude ranch for six weeks to do research. Little does she know that the owner is world famous
model and cover guy for her latest book. To make things worse they never hit it off too well on the day of the photo shoot.
Dream Kisses was an alright romance, nothing really jumped out to make it supper special but it was ok, I liked it.

It was a sweet love story and I liked Jake and Brandon and their interactions with other school stuff and students. I found it quite tame, though, as there was no conflict. Moreover, I would have loved an epilogue!

This was a good continuation of the series. At times though I thought it was Sophie who wasn't good enough for Ruger...not the other way around. Noah, Sophie's son was such a sweetheart. And I'm sad that we never got to know the full meaning behind Ruger's name.
This book also set up the next book quite nicely, and I can not wait to see what's going to happen there.
But this had it all for me. Nice plot, great sex, sexy as hell bad boy, who even came with his own metal accessories (even one is a place that it seemed like he made the absolute best use of).
Anyway, I digress. I'm glad that things worked out in the end. And the epilogue was a perfect glimpse of Sophie and Ruger in the future. I"m sure glad she found a little spine.

Lmao. I'm in Charlotte this week. Left this am so I wanted to get the book done now. I'm on mobile for the rest of the week.

It's a slow start, but I haven't had a good chunk of time to sit down with it yet. :)

The cross over between the Cut & Run series and this one is just confusing for me. At the end of the last Sidewinder book Nick and Kelly were being separated because the crew got called back for a mission and they hadn't had actual sex yet. THAT was what I was waiting for in this one. Except it happened in the last Cut & Run book and now we've skipped all the way to a long distance relationship and totally in love. And Julian Cross?!? What happened to the badass we loved? He was kind of useless in this book. Sad. And wtf happened to the treasure? We spent the whole book looking for it and....nothing! What?!? The only saving grace in this book was Kelly. I lurrrrrve Kelly. The snark was fun but overall, disappointing.

I liked it, but I didn't love it. The whole book read really slow for me. There wasn't a moment where I was just sucked into the book and I kept reading to try to find that moment. Overall it was a sweet story, though.

Have a nice time, Brianne!
