Mike Goldsmith | 17 comments I read in this in about 1973, it’s a YA about three Welsh teenagers who discover they are telepathic. One of them almost causes an aircraft to crash. It might be called something like “The Power of Three” I think this book had only been recently published when I read it.

Laura | 121 comments I wondered about this one: Power Of Three, although these teenagers are in England, not Wales. There is telepathy, but I don't remember any airplanes crashing.

Mike Goldsmith | 17 comments ah, thanks Laura, that sounds a little too recent as I'm pretty sure I read it in the early 1970s, but I'll check it out anyway. very kind of you!

Natasha | 250 comments The book Laura linked to was first published in 1976 (just mentioning in case you didn't see the other editions). Power Of Three by Diana Wynne Jones

Mike Goldsmith | 17 comments Thanks Natasha - I don't think this is the book I'm looking for, as this one seems to be set in the past, the one I remember was contemporary. Best wishes, Mike

Mike Goldsmith | 17 comments Nancy, that's IT! Thanks so much - now I remember the bit about the rabbit and also, as soon as I googled it and found the cover I recognised it (not that the cover was that much like I described). I've just ordered a copy! Many thanks!!!

N (kaxxie) | 104 comments I'm so glad -- the scenes with the rabbit and Jane's transformation have always haunted me; quite a good and chilling book!
