I started a buddy read of the series with someone that ended with the 5th book. She had a family commitment that got in the way. Now I know the last book and a nice index in it, but I figured what the hay, I'll post what I had at the time here. I'll see if I can get it up to date if you guys like it else I'll delete it. Psy Designations
M-Psy = Medic; Healers; can look inside the body and the physical causes of illness
E-Psy = Empath
F-Psy = Foreseers; Can Foretell the future

TK-Cell - basic power is TK, but it has a designation called cell. The person can change things on a cellular level. They can remove scars or repair hearts using cells from other places. They cannot, however, create new cells.

******** Spoilers Chapter 1 - 5I like that we are getting a closer look at the Arrows. Vasic and Aden have an interesting relationship. I really like that they talk about what Kaleb wants to do.
I liked Vasic and Ivy's first meeting, was glad that Ivy saw fast that he wasn't there to kill or hurt her, and seems serious to think over the invitation.
The meeting of the Changelings to talk over Kaleb's proposal was interesting. They really thought about it, why it was good or bad. I liked that they listened to what Sasha had to say.
I was very surprised that Vasic has actual family, loved the talk with his great grandfather. His take on silence, seeing it at the start and the aftermath made me sad. I think his take on why people died early was true and can't imagine how horrible that would be for those that had feelings before, to see their kids so cold had to be heartbreaking.
******* Spoilers Chapters 6 - 10I really liked the conversation that Zie Zen had with Vasic about his youth and the girl that he loved and lost. There were so many potential similarities, I loved how he cautioned his grandson to make sure to save his E, like he couldn't his. I don't think Zie Zen could have given Vasic a greater compliment when he told him that "You are the son of my heart, my truest descendent. You may have lost faith, but you will never give up, regardless of what you believe at this instant. You will do what must be done." Heady thoughts for someone who isn't used to experiencing emotion of any kind.
I was very surprised that Kaleb met Devraj, of the forgotten. I thought their talk went well, loved at the info that they were sharing, mostly because it was a first. I especially loved how Devraj questioned Kaleb by asking about a ceasefire. The answer from Kaleb was great! "No, I'm declaring peace." It really is a whole new world for them all.
Ivy is really growing on me. She is stronger than she realizes. I love that her parents stuck by her when at the time so many wouldn't have, despite being Psy in silence they really do love her. I hate that there is another threat to her, but was glad that Vasic saved the day. His speaking with Ivy's mother had me laughing, but I'm sure it perplexed him.
I liked the gathering that Hawke, Lucas, Vasic, and Judd had on the site where the experiment is to take place. They all were upfront with expectations and what repercussions would be. I'm really hoping that some of the cubs come when the E Psy get there, that they can play, and get some "good/happy" emotion that will help fix them and the Net.
********** Spoilers Chapters 11 - 15I find it interesting that Ivy is somewhat disappointed with life at the compound and with the other E Psy. I get what she is saying about thinking that there should be some sort of connection.
I'm both surprised and not that one of the E Psy brought contraband onto the compound. I did like Vasic's reaction when he went to talk to the head of the family. I sort of believe her, but if I was her I would be very scared of what my family and myself was going to have to go through to prove things.
********** Spoilers Chapters 16 - 20I like seeing Ivy realize that she has feelings for Vasic and not sure what to do about them or if Vasic could ever welcome those feelings. Sasha had some great advice for Ivy on being patient and what kind of man Vasic would be if/when he thaws. It is fun to see Vasic start to care. So many times he isn't sure what to do.
I loved Rabbit's first experience with a changeling. I'm surprised that Rabbit didn't pee from being so scared.
******** Spoilers Chapter 21 - 25I like that Aden has noticed that there is more happening with Ivy and Vasic, even better is that he seems to approve, that maybe this is the best thing for Vasic and his mental health.
Vasic made me mad when he warned Ivy that he wasn't going to be able to feel like the other Arrow and E that seemed like they are developing a relationship.
The attack on the Net in the area is crazy with how it took out 6 Arrows. It will be interesting how things are resolved with it.
******** Spoilers Chapter 26 - 30Wow, things with the attack of the Net were brutal. I can't imagine being in that situation. I did find it interesting the only Psy survivors were E.
I like that Kaleb is using the Arrows for more than killing people, I think it is a good thing for both parties. I also liked how Kaleb, Nikita, and Night Star are working together for the betterment of the Psy.
I loved Ivy's attempt at seduction, even better is Vasic's reaction.
********* Spoilers Chapter 31 - 35I hate that Vasic is under a short death sentence. I can see why he made the choice he did with the gauntlet, but it sucks now that he is starting something with Ivy. I found it funny when Ivy kept telling him to be quiet, that she needed to be mad at him for a bit. Later I found myself laughing at their make out session. The way that they kept wording things was funny.
I was really glad that Vasic told his great grandfather. I felt sorry for Zie Zen, he feels so close to his grandson, so many similarities, and now this. I hope that Zie Zen can find a solution.

It's been a busy week. My son graduated from middle school and today was the last day for two of them. They're all mine for the summer. Yay!

So the darkness/virus like sickness might be due to a lack of empaths in the Net. Very interesting. Kaleb's theory sounds good.
I like getting to know about the world prior to Silence. I could totally see Psy dying from broken hearts as their children went from cute and loving individuals to cold uncaring ones.
Once again a strong male thinking he's unworthy of and unable to love.
Kaleb's reputation is pretty bad. Thank goodness he's on the side of good now.
*********** Spoilers Chapter 36 - 40Boy the first attack with the E's on duty was brutal. I liked that Ivy and her friend were able to figure things out to stop them. I also loved how the friend found out her specialty. It has to be a great feeling since they had been told so much that they were broken.
I liked the path that Zie Zen took to help Vasic. I have a feeling that they will be able to help him. One question, I don't remember the relationship between Keenan and Zie Zen, is there a blood one or no?
I find it funny how Vasic's power is on the fritz when sex is brought into the equation. They are lucky that they only ended up at "safe" places.
Every time little Ben shows up I can't help but to smile at the pup. He is so cute. I hope at some point we get to see him as a grown up. And how funny was it that he called Sasha "Sasha Darling".
I also find it very funny that Nala's favorite toy is a stuffed wolf and that it annoys Lucas. You can bet what a child of Hawke and Sienna will get for a present.

********** Spoilers Chapters 41 - 45Boy, the attacks are getting so much worse and the E's just don't seem to be able to do as much any more. I do wonder about the one survivor in the last attack in NY. He has a different designation, maybe those types of people can help.
I thought Vasic was ballsy to teleport to Sasha directly. I can see why Lucas was so upset. It took me a bit to get why they hid Nala's face, but when you realize why, it makes total sense.
I really like seeing Alice come back to life. Her going to NY will be interesting. I hope that at some point she will get her own book with a sexy shifter! lol
Zie Zen seems to be more powerful than I realized at first. That he could call a favor in with the head of Night Star. Again I have a question, is there a blood relation tie there, or was that an honorific "Grandfather" that was spoken?
********** Spoilers Chapter 46 - 50I loved the sex talk between Judd and Vasic. It was funny how they wished that more Arrows would need this advice. Later it was just as good when Vasic was talking with Ivy about his new found knowledge he learned through sex manuals. I loved how Ivy wished that she had read them too.
I liked that Alice remembered something to help, but hated that she didn't have the context to make it work all the way.
Samuel Rain was interesting, I liked how they were just around him and let him decide if he was going to help. The abrupt way that he started talking had me laughing.
I think Ming over played his hand by going after Vasic, especially when Vasic came out on top. That can't bode well for Ming. That monster is going to so many people coming after him really soon!
******** Spoilers Chapter 51 - 55I like the way that Samuel Rain is waking up. His rewiring all of Haven had me laughing. Although later when he wouldn't speak to Ivy and Vasic it made me made. I really hope he can fix things.
I love that Vasic is now the face of the Arrows. Would I have picked him, no, but with his actions and his feelings towards Ivy, it is allowing the people at large to see past the killer to the man. I love that Ivy is willing to welcome all of the Arrows in her house, that she considers them family. I think it will give them all something to think about.
I love that Sahara figured out the connection to the few E's that have survived. When you think about it it makes perfect sense.
******** Spoilers Chapter 56 - endI loved that from Sahara's idea Ivy came up with the honeycombing, it makes perfect sense. I'm really glad that these people that most thought were worthless are the ones that ended up saving the world.
I was fearful that now that things were safe in the Net that Vasic's gauntlet would be the downfall of him. I shouldn't have, but man, could it have been any more last minute.
I loved the conversation that Aden and Ivy had while Vasic was in surgery. I think it allowed them to be better friends. I really loved how afterwards the Arrows would randomly stop by their house, that they finally had a "home" that they would be welcome at. Even better was the wedding. I find it really funny how Ivy wanted to feed them all cake.
I really liked the chapter at the end called "Hope". I think it had some important messages, the one from Aden about the Arrow's roles with the E Psy. But just as important, maybe even more, was Ivy's letter to all the E's about their role with the Arrow's. I think given time this new partnership will be a great one!
***********SPOILERS for chapters 7 - 20**********I think with the declaration of peace, Kaleb is what Ming Lebon should have been. It makes me wonder how Ming went from Arrow to the way he is now? Greed is an emotion. How the heck did he make the leap from Arrow to councilman?
Kaleb feels guilt, that's another emotion. I see the cracks. They may be thin, but they're there.
Love how Sasha encourages Ivy to not give up on Vasic.
4 years old and punished into submission. Yikes.
Teleporting out of the womb? Why couldn't my kids do that? lol
Looks like Ivy's starting to grow on Vasic. He even massaged her.
Can't believe Liana broke the rules and a family member teleported in to kill her.
I hope the female Arrow is okay.

****Comments and Thoughts for 21 - 45Ivy and her image picture had me giggling. The PsyNet is quite something, isn't it? At first I thought it was better than a camera phone picture--more private. Then I got to thinking a very bad Psy could probably send intimate pictures to all his friend just from memory and thought this would not be so good a gift in the hands of a teenager. Ivy isn't like other Psys that's for sure.
Crazy to think that the dark mind is forming itself into a woman. Does that mean someone is behind it? Could an individual be the root of it? I'm guessing not. Perhaps it was Nalini's way of showing us it was alive?

I had wondered if Samuel Rains had surgery to change his appearance. I guess it was just really good shielding.

I like how Ivy tries to show Vasic he still can make a life--a good one--out of the time he has left. Of course we're all hoping it's longer than 8 weeks.
Finally Alice comes into the picture. I was wondering when she'd show up.
Laughed really hard at the "toy whose name will not be mentioned." So funny. I love how the two alphas torment each other.
Zie Zen is someone we've met before, I'd just forgotten about him. How ironic. I didn't make the association when he first entered the picture in this book.
If Alice ends up being Sunny, I'll end up laughing.

I love how there seems to be no solution, I think Sasha will be the key, but I'm not ruling out Ivy yet.

I hadn't thought of that. Part of me really likes the idea, but another part of me hates it. Zie is old and almost ready to die, they wouldn't have very much time left together. And I really want Alice to find her HEA.

comments and thoughts for 1-45I started this one last night and I was supposed to read just a few chapters. Well I have been sneaking it in today at work and I am up to chapter 45.
Thoughts so far
Well I just love it. I love seeing all the characters and prior couples it feels so authentic!
As for Vasic wow you know I was looking forward to his story and I think it is interesting how he feels so much but has learned to bury it. I think Ivy is a good match for him.
The infection is really creepy and I wonder if Kaleb is going to have to do something drastic. I am not sure he is as ruthless as he thinks he can be. Having a mate is changing him in good ways.
OK Grandfather Zie...is he a new character? I swear I do not remember him
Last but not least Aden. It is interesting to understand he and Vasic's relationship. Plus I love how accepting he is of Ivy.
Ok one more thing I thought I would see more Jude...

I probably would have gone with Aden, he is more "human" in his feelings.
Thoughts 45-endAt the end of the day I thought it was a great read but the end was mediocre that is why it lost a star for me.
Like why did he have the gauntlet? It seemed rather pointless in the end.
As for Vasic and Ivy their romance was super sweet and I wonder if I have the issue because I wanted Ivy to be screwed up to. I wanted Vasic to make the first move or maybe have more balance with the scars. While I enjoyed the romance it felt a bit like good girl saves man from himself you know?
Oh right my issues with the end ...it was just super anti-climactic.
All the build up with the gauntlet and then pfft nothing to worry about really and just in the nick of time.
Psynet is just failing people are dying things are happening but bam all the sudden Ivy figured it out and in less than a chapter problem solved.

****Thoughts and comments for Chapters 46 - end***I'm glad the gauntlet was able to be removed.
We didn't make too much progress with the Dark Mind, but they're moving forward.
Looks like there will be a lot of Arrows in the coming books.
I wonder if Nakita will have something to do with killing the Dark Mind. She has that killing virus power capability. Wonder if it could work on the Dark Mind?
Also, waiting for Nakita and Anthony to become a couple. It was hinted at a couple of books back.

Once word gets out about what Ming did (and with Vasic's confessions and memorial you know it will) I think his approval rating will plummet.
I thought Aden would be the voice of the Arrows. Interesting choice for Ivy and Vasic to be a power couple. They'll be doing what the one Psy power couple Soshana and Henry Scott tried to fake. Only this couple will be for real.
Ivy is going to be like my grandma. You'd come to her house and her catch phrase was, "Eat...Eat." and she'd make you feel guilty if you didn't have seconds. My sister and I used to joke her theme song should be Weird Al's version of the song Beat It entitled Eat It. lol
I want to see Ben grow up too.
It's a brave new world. I just hope they can nip some of the negative groups in the bud. I thought Hope was a great way to leave off with the book.
I loved how Ivy and Vasic kept changing locations when Vasic got turned on. How funny. Ivy's thought that if Vasic couldn't get a handle on the transports he should be on the bottom was hilarious.
Poor Rabbit. It sounded like he'd be fine.
Sounds like Ivy will be a little mother to all the Arrows.
Loved her jealousy over the female nurses. Just keep not noticing them, Vasic, and all will be fine. lol

I also like Vasic and Aden's relationship. Aden is very protective almost like an older brother. I have to wonder if his book won't be next.
Yes, I am pleased that there was no misunderstanding between them. Any ideas on what type of dog Rabbit is. I don't think there is a description of him. Might have to go back and re-read.
Its great to see the teamwork between the wolves and the cats. I was particularly impressed with their trust in Judd and that they have faith in his opinion of Kaleb. I can't remember if Judd told Hawke that Kaleb is the Ghost.

I did suspect that Isaiah might be up to no good especially after Sascha pointed out how an E psy can manipulate others if they put their mind to it - of course, that may still come.
After reading 13 of these books by now, I don't know why I'm constantly surprised at the way the Psy treat their own. But then given the way the world is in real life, I shouldn't be surprised at the cruelty that people are capable of.
********** Spoilers Chapters 16 - 20While I like Vasic and Ivy as individuals, and I can see why they are attracted to each other, their chemistry is not as intense as in the previous books. Perhaps I just haven't gotten to those scenes yet though.

******** Spoilers Chapter 21 - 25I'm not sure what the purpose of including Jaya and Abbot's romance alongside Vasic and Ivy's is. Is it to highlight the differences between the Arrows and the fact that Vasic will find it more difficult to form an attachment with Ivy because of his past even though Abbot is more fractured.
The descriptions of the infection in the PsyNet are intense. It was interesting to see the effect on the various races.

I was also glad the Anthony refused to give out false visions in order to keep the populace under control. Nikita has always been more willing to cross the moral boundaries.
Yes, Ivy's seduction was sweet. I loved Vasic's reaction.
********* Spoilers Chapter 31 - 35Vasic's death sentence is definitely a case of be careful what you wish for. As he obviously isn't going to die, Zie Zen will find a solution or something else will turn up. I keep thinking back to Keenan and Noor and how they saved Katya.

For me it was that all Arrows are capable to have feelings and like having feelings.
