As a reader, what do you get from reading romance novels?

I guess that reading is reading..I mean we all enjoy some type of books.Some we like some we don't.I feel like it has to do with what we enjoy most.Romance is not everyone's cup of tea.The majority of the book I personally love and am keen on reading are romance novels.

I really only enjoy romance novels and they have to have a HAPPY ENDING. I hate reading a story that leaves me so upset for days....ie Taking Chances :(I think I just enjoy reading about how people fall in love and overcome their problems to find their one true love.
I love the dance between men and women.

I feel the exact same way right down to Taking Chances. Well said sister!
Why I read romance? Well, first because we all know that what we read there it will stay there. Second because of the happy ending. Reading is supossed to give us happiness. Thats why I read romance all time.

Reading about loves, helps me reflect on all of my mistakes in that department. It makes me yearn more, meaning it keeps me alive. It reduces my stress, I sleep very well; I've forgiven past lovers, open my eyes to my flaws and finally given me a voice. I now know what I want from loving myself and my lover! Although, I haven't found my lover yet!!! In the mean time, I'm loving ME!!! Hey!!!!!!!
I get to experience deep, powerful, emotional true love. That's all I wish for in real life…reading it in different stories and characters, I get to live through multiple deep loves. It's amazing.

The only thing I would add to that myself is that it's and escape from reality. When life gets me down I pick up a good book and my problems disappear for just a moment in time.
