Steph (angel4492) | 32734 comments Heidi Ho, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo!

Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week (Send PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace)
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1224 comments Hi Team!! So happy to be on this team and to play Bingo again.

Can't wait to hear from everybody and get introduced.

I've played Bingo many times and can be a Captain if necessary. My only challenge is that my daughter is getting married in June and I will be somewhat out of pocket for several days. But I'm also very happy if someone else would like the job.

I love team challenges and have never failed to get my book read in a week (okay once I did, but I'm not talking about that!).

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1224 comments Thanks!! And yes, Sandra 2 out of my 4 will be married! And my son who got married in July is expecting a baby in Nov. (catholics work fast!) Life is crazy!!

Rachel, I am happy to concede captain duties to you and plan on helping as you need it.

I love the names that were generated. I am happy with any of them.

So excited to play this again.
And I will be leaving for CA on June 10 and flying home on the 17th. I should still be reading some and getting on the internet. It just won't be as much. And of course I won't be around at all on Saturday. And expect pictures!

message 31: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1224 comments Week 1: Demons
Iced (Dani O'Malley, #1; Fever, #6) by Karen Marie Moning
5/18/14 3★

Review: I have a rather long, up and down relationship with the Fever series and so I had held off reading this first entry in the spinoff series. And while I'm glad I read it and I liked parts of it (KMM can create an amazing world!), I have to say that the parts that made me crazy outweighed the enjoyable to some extent.

message 32: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Sandra wrote: "Good choice Josie, loved it and the rest of that series, very addictive :)"

Thanks, Sandra! It's because of you that I'm reading the series LOL!

I've finished my books for this week. For demons shelf:

Bloodfire (Blood Destiny, #1) by Helen Harper

Title/Author: Bloodfire by Helen Harper
Date finished: 18th May
Rating: 4.5 stars
Review: A great start to a UF series! There's a good mix of action, politics, and romance that keeps the pace moving. Whilst a fiery main character with a hero complex is not usually my thing, Mack is very likeable and has a good heart. Nothing was particularly surprising but I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and being a Brit, I loved reading an urban fantasy set in the UK!

For free space:

Bloodmagic (Blood Destiny, #2) by Helen Harper

Title/Author: Bloodmagic by Helen Harper
Date finished: 19th May
Rating: 4 stars
Review: Bloodmagic picks up Mack a few months down the line after the end of Bloodfire. Whilst I do question her decision making skills at times, I liked finding out more about the Otherworld. At first I thought this might be a more "filler" book but by the end, I'm satisfied that the story has progressed. This series kind of reminds me of the Secret McQueen books (which is a positive thing).

I should probably wait for the next shelf before reading #3 but like Sandra said, this series is addictive! :)

message 39: by Rachel-RN (new)

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments For demons:
Mark of the Demon 4* 5/19
Very good. I enjoyed the mystery/police procedural/paranormal. It did a good job of concealing who the big bad was and kept me guessing until the very end. Well done!
I enjoyed Kara and thought she was an awesome lead. Be interesting to see what happens with her Aunt Tessa, Ryan, and how she turned up (at the end, how will that be explained?). Looking forward to book 2.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1224 comments Mortal Sins!! Go for Mortal Sins!! But I have to agree - you have some great choices there to choose from.

message 45: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments And the winner is ....

None of the above. I grabbed Kresley Cole's book off the shelf in the bedroom, fed the cat, put on my jacket and was getting ready to walk out the door this morning when a book on the front room shelf caught my eye. I knew it would be on the demons shelf, so I grabbed it too. Luckily I was right.

I started reading Unchained (The Dark Forgotten, #3) by Sharon Ashwood and am already wondering why it took me so long to get to book 3. Of course, if I'd grabbed one of the others, I'd be wondering the same thing about it. Way too many series in progress.
