Review:
Tessa Afshar is such a talent with Biblical Fiction. This beautifully told story was filled with hardship. I thought of Job as I read Elianna's story. The length of time and magnitude of tragedies were well beyond what the average person could endure. Elianna is a character to revere. Likewise, for the main male character Ethan. Ethan was a compassionate, loving and strong man.
I highly recommend this novel for fans of Biblical Fiction.

Which is your favorite Cynthia? I've also read Harvest of Gold and Harvest of Rubies.
Harvest of Rubies....I read it every year then cant help but read Harvest of Gold. In The Field of Grace is fantastic as well.
Harvest of Gold is my favorite so far. I have her other two novels on my Kindle. I just haven't gotten to them yet.

It's rather difficult to wrap my mind around a father agreeing for his ten year old daughter to marry.
Prior to her marriage, Nujood was a girl that enjoyed playing hide and seek and learning. Her world took a rapid turn for the worse when she was told she was to married. She lived through a nightmare and was brave and angry enough to take the risk to escape her husband and family to seek out a judge for help.
Nujood's story is a tragic one. Fortunately, she has led a path for change and bravery for other young brides.

Yeah..I didn't really enjoy it. Very slow for me. And I got this book to review so I haven't read the first book.
My sister is reviewing that book too. ;)
Haley, it was good. The second one is my favorite of the series though.

The Alliance delivers a story that is different than what is typically found in Christian Fiction.
Jolina Petersheim delivers a love story amidst the chaos of the unknown. In a Mennonite community the power goes out not only with electricity, but to all electronics. There are a few Englishers in the community buying products when it happens. A pilot crashes in a field in the community. This blend of the human race are then at a decision point - what now?
The journey of watching the Memmonite and Englishers work together through the crisis was delightful. Even better though was learning how different people react in a time of crisis.
My only struggle was with keeping straight the switch in first person voice between Moses and Leora. At times I had to go back and see which one was speaking. For me that says their voices were not as unique as they could have been. Please don't let this minor issue dissuade you from reading the novel. It was very well done and I enjoyed it immensely.
I didn't realize it was a series until the final page. Now the wait begins...
