Adam McPhee (adam_mcphee) | 22 comments Tintin (or Tintin ripoff) goes to Niagara Falls? Remember reading a black and white comic in the late 90s/early 00s. Tintin and Snowy at Niagara Falls. But it's not listed with the regular old Herge comics. Did someone write more Tintin comics after he died or soemething?

Are you sure it's not part of Tintin in America?

Adam McPhee (adam_mcphee) | 22 comments Yeah, I browsed through a couple of plot summaries and none of them mention a waterfall or anything.

Adam, any chance this comic book is not located in North America? For example, in Tintin in the Congo, "They fight across a waterfall, and the stowaway is eaten by crocodiles." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tintin_...)

Adam McPhee (adam_mcphee) | 22 comments I'm sure it was Niagara Falls. (I'm less sure it was Tintin). There were a lot of specifics about Horseshoe Falls, and which parts are Canadian/American. There was also something about a hydrodam, and they were in the pipes when they flooded.

To help people not familiar with Tintin, can you describe what makes your comic book's character similar to Tintin?

What kind of adventures or challenges does he face?

What's the time period?

Adam McPhee (adam_mcphee) | 22 comments It struck me as slightly more modern than Tintin, but there was also a steamboat, so I don't know.

He's on vacation or assignment and stumbles upon some kind of crooks he hunts down in Niagara Falls, who were trying to sabotage the falls or something. The reason I think it's Tintin is because I remember a dog character and a guy like Captain Haddock, but my memory of that part is vague.

The comic itself was in black and white, and I read sometime in the 90s or early 00s.

"The Niagara Falls Mystery" (1992) presented by Tommy Trent?
https://www.amazon.com/Niagara-Falls-...

One Amazon reviewer says: "The story follows the adventures of Tommy Trent (who is not the author, as Amazon claims) while he vacations at Niagara Falls, Ontario and runs into old friends and new enemies. Tommy, along with his two dogs, is a curious guy and he happens to discover a secret plot being planned by a criminal outfit based out of the old Toronto power house. During the climax, Tommy is trapped below ground in a discharge tunnel that releases water behind the falls and as the water rushes in he has to run for his life! The story cleverly uses real locations around the Niagara region and the crime spans both the American and the Canadian sides of the river."
