KDP select questions

My understanding is , when you enroll with KDP Select, you cannot give out your digital book free through any source. This does not cover the paperbacks or print books. You do not need to remove your books from Goodreads if you intend to arrange Goodreads Giveaway but you cannot give out free eBook download through Goodreads. You can gift your books through Goodreads but you will have to order them from Amazon at the prevailing price you have set and mail to the designated recipients.
Thank you Tim I noticed this morning that kindle is the only place I seem to be selling so I'm heavily leaning that way.
Your book can stay on Goodreads as long as you don't offer free download here. (Not many people do that and by checking your book quickly, I didn't see that it was.) you are also allowed to give the same length of free sample to whom you want, but no more. If you have chapters published on a blog or watt pad or here, make sure it's no more than amazon's free sample.
I thought I heard that Amazon bought part or all of goodreads.
It is worth it. They support free quarterly book promotions. They have the largest market and a 70% royalty.
Martin wrote: "It is worth it. They support free quarterly book promotions. They have the largest market and a 70% royalty."To clarify Martin's point, you don't have to be enrolled in KDP Select to get the 70% royalty. You can opt for it on any book priced between $2.99 to $9.99.
Goodreads isn't a book sales site, so it's fine anyway.Basically, if you're in Select you mustn't have your book for sale anywhere else.
You can maybe get away with it until you want to run a Countdown - not advisable.
(I know as I honestly forgot my book was on sale on other sites until they removed my planned Countdown!!). Ouch!
I don't sell much on any of the other sites (next to nothing).
Amazon have the lion's share.
Go with your gut instinct.
