I am the author of two novels - an epic fantasy (The Bulls of War) and a historical fiction set in Ancient Greece (Fortress of the Sun). The former is the first in the series entitled Chronicles of the Andervold Thrones; the latter is intended to stand alone, yet fits into a continuum of late third century Greek novels to come.

I was born and raised on the East Coast of the United States but I'm a world traveler at heart. I caught the writing bug early on and have a passion for all good fiction, but especially that of the fantasy and historical variety (seeing a pattern yet?). To the latter point, I easily digest as much non-fiction as I do its counterpart, primarily with respect to Ancient Rome and Greece. My interest (*cough* obsession *co

I find that when I have a block as to where a plot should go or what a character should do, it's typically because there are too many distractions (inadvertent or otherwise), such that I am not focusing 100% on my material at hand; i.e., I've been staring at the screen too long. Removing myself from that situation and allowing my mind to wander in a relaxing environment has consistently (and surprisingly) brought me clarity that proved elusive.(less)

The only thing that standards between you and the story you want to write is the time you're willing to invest in it, but the bounds of the content rest with you. You can create worlds that no one has ever created, bring old worlds back to life after centuries in the shadows. The power to do these things is the best part of being a writer - and it's a power free of charge, imagine that!(less)

En Route to Ancient Greece

Well, it's been a long time coming but my Ancient Greek epic Fortress of the Sun is nearing release. I had designs on putting it out this time last year, but suddenly felt the energy to give it one last top-to-bottom edit. Who knows how many edits that puts it up to. In any event, preorders should go live in the next month, with a target release by the end of the year. More updates to come on that Read more of this blog post »
