☛ No bookwhacking or self-promotion (totally stole this definition from SIA haha!)

Think about bookwhack as bird droppings. Everyone is having a picnic. The sun is shining. The food is good. The conversation is flowing. Then, suddenly a bird flies down and leaves a dropping, ruining the day for everyone.

Bookwhacking is doing the same with your book. Going into threads and dropping your book name or cover or blurb without being invited to do so. You fly over, drop the bomb. and leave. Sometimes you stay to add a short comment but the sole purpose of it is to make people think you actually had something to say. In other words, it's finding any reason to push your book in the face of people who were not expecting it.

☛ No Adult Language or Explicit Sexual Content

We are NOT an 18+ group. From the Guidelines for Group Moderators:

"Sexual role-play is not tolerated in any group or any other part of the site. Romance is permitted in role-play games, but pornographic content and explicitly sexual content or scenarios are not permitted. We’ve made the decision that this is not appropriate for our site."

Well, we kinda sorta think this goes without saying but just to be safe, I guess we'd better say it anyway, eh? ^_~

☛ We are not a review group

There are many established review groups on GR. We are not one of them. Moreover, we looove new ideas and experimenting till the lab blows up (no joke) however...

☛ We are not a free-for-all

This is not the place for self-promotion or organizing individual mini-group events.

We have decided to do a SELECT number of promo events each year as a cohesive group because that has proven to be most effective.

If you're thinking, "Duh, Ann. All of that's obvious," then, ummm...

Yay.
