Here is my day one update for you guys:So I listened to Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet for 2 hours yesterday
I read 246 pages ofMy Lady Jane I plan to finish this on today. I believe that I am using this one for B3
Plus 20 pages of Strawberry Shortcake Murder
Finished The Queen of the Night for the historical fiction. I was reading it before the readathon started (at 65%) so it can count for that square too if needed.Total page count so far: 200
I just finished The Girl with all the Gifts, counting it for:
- G4
- N1 (yellow)
- 279 total pages read
I'm going to start All the Missing Girls for one of my B1 books and the mystery/thriller (I5)
- G4
- N1 (yellow)
- 279 total pages read
I'm going to start All the Missing Girls for one of my B1 books and the mystery/thriller (I5)
I just finished my first book, The Gap of Time by Jeanette Winterson. I was halfway through when the challenge started on Monday. It is something I read for the Around the Year challenge. So, it will fit B3, B5, or G4. I read a total of 121 pages, so far.
Hey guys. I don't think I'll be able to update anything today (work this morning and a work thing tonight) but will get it handled first thing tomorrow morning!
Here is my update for today:B3: My Lady Jane done!
N4: Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet 5 hours listened to!
page count so far=511
Tonight I started and finished a children's book called White Fur Flying by Patricia MacLachlan. It fits sevaral spots - B1, B5, G1, and O3.I also listened to A People's History of the United States for 2 hours, 11 minutes.
Total page count so far is 203.
I am starting Night and Day by Iris Johansen. It fits B3, B5, I 3, and I 5. For N 1 the cover color is orange. I will try to read outside later today.
Brianna, would it help you if people were to add the bingo square in question, when posting their updates? Many are doing so already.
Yesterday wasn't a great day for me because I wasn't feeling well in the afternoon and evening. So I just ended up finishing The Girl with All the Gifts (updated above). But I can start my new book today.
I didn't read much yesterday because it was my little boy's 1st birthday :) Maybe about 75 pages of Homegoing.
Hey guys! I think I have everything up to date, but I have a couple of questions to finish up.Kelly
→ To me this isn't quite green, but I'm not sure if this is the cover you have or what it looks like in real life (lol). Debra
I have you down as listening to an audiobook for 4 hours and 56 minutes. Can we round that up to 5 hours yet, or no?
Amy
Have you finished The Graveyard Book? And you listened to 60 minutes of it as audio, correct?
Ira
With finishing The Snow Queen's Shadow, was it a total of 5 hours that you listened to?
It would definitely help to include what bingo square(s) you would like the book to apply to and the page count (if you want it counted towards O1) when it's finished. Also, book covers would help or at least the color so we can complete the read the rainbow prompt. Thank you!
still needed
B3→ 2 books for the ATY challenge (only 1 entry per member)
N2→ 6 hours of reading outside (up to 2 hours per member)
N4→ at least 4 hours of audiobooks (up to 5 hours per member)
O5→ add 2 books to the ATY Reading Map (only 1 entry per member)
Ira wrote: "The snow queen's shadow was 12 hours long, but I guess only 5 counts..."Sadly yes, each member can only contribute 5 hours. :(
I will count it as our Sci-Fi or Fantasy book though!
Brianna, yes round me up to five hours. I listened on my drive to work today which is 30 minutes. When I finish Anna Karenina you could count that toward read for the AtY challenge, if that's still open.
That's great. I will finish Theft of swords today. It can count as a book for the ATY (week 33 : the 16th book on your tbr) and as book started before the read-a-thon. You can choose where it counts. Maybe it can also count as a colorTheft of Swords
Brianna wrote: "Hey guys! I think I have everything up to date, but I have a couple of questions to "Yes I did finish graveyard book and the 60 minutes were for the audiobook portion of that book.
Not feeling the greatest today but if I can stand up and walk straight I will go outside and read right now for a couple hours. It is gorgeous outside this afternoon.
The sky is supposed to represent the green color it takes when a tornado is coming. It has the deadly tornadoes from the early 1950s in it. I am totally ok if there is a better option.
We can't use Night and Day for B3 because I have a book already included for B3.
Not sure if this could be considered orange or not.
Debra→ Thank you! We probably will count it towards the AtY Challenge (I think).Ira→ We already have all the books for the topic of books started before the read-a-thon so we can definitely count it towards the AtY Challenge.
Amy→ Thank you! Hopefully you feel better soon!
Kelly→ That works for me! Thank you for pointing out about B3. And yes, I would definitely count that as orange so we can count that towards the covers.
If a short story is still needed, I am currently reading The Girl Who Married the Moon: Tales from Native North America, which is a collection of short Native American tales. I should finish the book this week, but I have several of them already read, including the title story, "Arrowhead Finger," and a few others. I believe that is G2.Also, I have read a total of one hour outside, so far.
Here is my recommendation. I have been thinking a lot about folk stories this year, and a collection I really enjoyed was Tatterhood and Other Tales by Ethel Johnston Phelps.
It is a fun read with a good variety of tales and is probably what began my interest in reading folk and fairy tales.
I would contend that Morris is meant to be a one word title even though is isn't entered as such. Could someone else take a look at the cover posted under group progress and give your input? Thanks
Rainbow questions/comments:Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats covers orange.
Through the Woods, is that not red enough? Is there a coverage percentage we are aiming for?
Also, is All Shook Up green or blue? It seems very blue to me.
Sorry for the million questions. I think sitting in the sun invigorated me for the first time in three days! :-)
Susan→ I will get The Girl Who Married the Moon: Tales from Native North America added for G2 which will complete that topic!Thank you as well for your recommendation!
Amy→ If there's no argument I'll add that for B2 (one word title).
The 1st version that pops up when I search for Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats is yellow, but I do see there is an orange cover for it as well so I will get that updated! I have Through the Woods as a back up for red just in case there is another book that is completely red. I also have All Shook Up as the blue cover. Definitely very blue! lol
By the way guys-we got our first BINGO! G's all the way down!- | - | - | ✓ | -

Just completed Free Four: Tobias Tells the Divergent Knife-Throwing Scene, Divergent Series 1.5. This should fill I3.
Hi team, I'm sorry for being a little MIA the past few days. I got some news in my personal life that has thrown me through a bit of a loop. I'm going to try my best to use the read-a-thon as a distraction but I'm not sure how much reading I will actually be able to accomplish. I hate to leave the team hanging but we can use the two books that I did complete towards the card. I know that you've already counted The Girl with All the Gifts but The Walking Dead can also count for:
1 book towards B1
136 pages towards 01
I'll be sure to update the group if I do complete more reading. I can also likely complete some of the games if I'm needed there.

I read 82 pages of Night and Day yesterday. Never did get to read outside. My total page count is 255. I will try to get outside today, but will definitely read!
I have reached a page count of 670 now so that would be my total for O1.Oh also I added Go Set a Watchman to the group map. It might already have been added by other members so I am not sure if it would count for O4?
I am halfway done with a book for B3. Should be able to finish it today, i'll let you know. I will also work on my audiobook contribution today, tried to listen on the long drive home yesterday but apparently there wasn't enough memory on my phone to download the book.
Laura, take care of you and yours first, no worries.I've had a migraine day today so no reading done. Will continue tomorrow.
I've done all but guess that cover for the games. I'm not too good at games like that, :( But if need be i'll give it a go
I just finished The Girl Who Married the Moon: Tales from Native North America from start to finish, so it can be counted for B1. It was 122 pages. My total page count, so far, is now 243.
I forgot to mention in a separate post last night that I read outdoors for my 2 hours, my recommendation to the group has been marked and I read a book set in summer yesterday. My original post was updated correctly, just forgot to mention it here too. Not sure what I will be working on today. Possibly more of the audiobook. I will look at the board again and see what we need.
So I finished Strawberry Shortcake Murder yesterday and it can be counted towards my B1 count and if I have read the rules correctly it can also be counted towards any of these 3 spots too. B4, I3, I4 not sure what one you would like to count it towards.
Sarah wrote: "I have reached a page count of 670 now so that would be my total for O1.Oh also I added Go Set a Watchman to the group map. It might already have been added by other members so I ..."
I would count it, personally.
from the rules on the Group Map→One map marker per book.
Just like with the A-Z folders we're only going to include one marker per book. If you see that someone else has already mapped a book you read, submit it anyway. We can add your name to the submission info on the map as well.
I got everything updated! (I think so at least... lol)still needed
B1→ 1 book read in its entirety during the read-a-thon
B3→ 2 books read for the AtY Challenge
I5→ a mystery or thriller
N2→ 3 hours 30 minutes read outside (up to 2 hours per member)
N3→ book recommendation from Aglaea
N4→ 3 hours 15 minutes of audiobooks (up to 5 hours per member)
O5→ add 1 book to the AtY Reading Map (1 per member)
B1 & B3 cannot be combined
I5 & O5 cannot be combined
