Dan | 4 comments -I read this book back around 2011/2012.
-Genre is Fantasy.
-Protagonist is female.
-Taught by a male protagonist.
-Setting took place in 2 worlds.

What I do remember about story:
1: Woman was pulled/summoned into another world (to save it)
2: She learns magic
3: She goes home, but eventually comes back to the magic world. (She can still use magic in the home world, but it is weaker)
4: When she saves the world, she uses the excess magic to create a tower to live in (sign of the equivalent of a master wizard)

Things that may have happened, though I may be just falsely remembering it.

Magic was at least partly knot-based... like she unraveled a spell by finding the end of the knot.

Magic might have given her a silver streak in her hair.

Scott (smchure) | 77 comments The Silent Tower and/or The Silicon Mage by Barbara Hambly, maybe? These are the first two books in a series that was started in the mid 80's.

Harlequin Books (harlequinbooks) | 15 comments Except for the part of returning to her world, it somewhat sounds like Robin D. Owens' Summoning Series. I'm thinking it might be Protector of the Flight Protector of the Flight (The Summoning, #3) by Robin D. Owens which is one of the later books in the series.
