I thought we'd go with either a mystery or a science fiction book this time. Here are the choices, and I'll set up a poll next.

Mysteries:

The Nature of the Beast by Louise Penny:

A Banquet of Consequences by Elizabeth George:

The Girl with the Deep Blue Eyes by Lawrence Block:

Girl Waits with Gun by Amy Stewart:

Sci Fi:

Brilliance by Marcus Sakey:

Aurora by Kim Stanley Robinson:

Sorcerer to the Crown by Zen Cho:

Planetfall by Emma Newman: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

We've read a couple of Gillian Flynn books already, I think Dark Places and Sharp Objects.

Well it looks like our winner is The Nature of the Beast by Louise Penny! Enjoy!

message 10: by Mauri (new)

Mauri Fernandes | 15 comments Question: the nature of the beast is the first book in a series, so when we pick out our next book, is it going to be the 2nd book in the series? I know that may sound like a stupid question, but I just wanted to ask.

Mauri Fernandes | 15 comments Never mind, it's number 11 in the series, not number 1. I read it wrong. Sorry.

Nichole Gray | gray_reader_89 (graynm89) Where was the poll?

message 13: by Mauri (new)

Mauri Fernandes | 15 comments I didn't see it either! I don't mind the book we chose, it does sound good, but I would of liked to vote.

message 14: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (biblioberg) | 6 comments Since this book is in the middle of a series, is it okay to read as its own book and not knowing the previous stories and characters?

I'm pretty sure it's one of those series that you don't have to read in order.
