Martha (marthais) No examples for this one as I can't predict what you're looking forward to!

Discussion prompts
- What did you / will you read for this task?
- What did you think?
- Why were you looking forward to it?
- Did it deliver?
- Do you ever save books to read at certain times / in certain situations? Or if you really want to read a book will you just pick it up straight away?

Martha (marthais) For this task I read Glass Sword, the sequel to Red Queen. See review here

I read Red Queen in a day back in April and really enjoyed it. It's a dystopian fantasy, Hunger-Games-ey type. It's one of those classic things where you know it's not particularly well written, but you can't put it down! So I was eagerly anticipating Glass Sword, which was published earlier this year. As I was trying not to buy more books, I had to wait until it was available at the library. I was really looking forward to it because I wanted to know what was going to happen next!

Like Red Queen, I read it very quickly, but now that I'm into the series, I really do notice how poor the writing is and the main character was so freaking ANNOYING. However, I also Could. Not. Put. It. Down. So I have mixed feelings about it, I was disappointed because the series has such potential, but the author was lazy about it and could have done so much better. But like I said - I couldn't put the damn thing down!

If I really want to read a book, I tend not to save it, I have very poor self-control! However, I've also signed up for a gazillion reading challenges, so sometimes I have to choose certain books to get everything in! I'm trying to cut down on that (at least the short term deadlines) for that exact reason - life's too short to have to put off books you actually want to read!

I so agree on that, Martha! I discovered reading challenges back in 2013, I believe (I might be mistaken - however, it was not many years ago) and I used to sign up to so many of them! This was especially the case last year, and quite so this year, too. I definitely want to cut that down in 2017, as I really need to read books I actually want to read, and not just because they fit for a challenge.
