Elle | 62 comments There was a series of books that would have come out in Australia in 1999 (oddly specific, I know). From my vague recollections, it was a girl who went to stay with her grandmother (?) in a cottage (?) and there was a ghost in the garden. There were quite a few books in the series, I think. I never got into them (but a friend did), so I can't remember if the ghost was a girl or a boy,, but they were around the same age. That's pretty much all I remember, but I'll know it when I see it. We were around 11/12 when they came out.

The cover was brownish with yellow bits, I think. It may have had the word Ghost in the series title. May have had something to do with a village or a cottage or stop or something (or I may be entirely wrong). It was probably a bit of a popular release back then.

Driving me mad trying to think of what it was - hoping someone can help!

Elle | 62 comments Thanks for looking, but that's not it. They were coming out in 1999 and I'm fairly certain the series was Ghost something. I keep thinking of Stop but can't find anything about it!

Elle | 62 comments I'm also fairly confident on the brown/yellow cover.

I can't shake the idea of it being allied Ghost Stop or something similar, but can't find anything called that!

Elle, what's the location (Australia?) and time period of the story?

What's the theme of the series - e.g., ghosts, adventures of the same girl, same location?

Elle | 62 comments There is at least one ghost. I think it might only be one (could be wrong). Location would probably be Australia but I don't know that it's mentioned. I always imagined it as New South Wales. Same girl and I believe same ghost. Same house.

Elle | 62 comments I found it. I have no idea why the name Libby suddenly came to mind but I found the only Australian author that I recognised with the name Libby...and there it was in her list of work:

Ghoststop, Book 1: Double Sorrow (1999)
Ghoststop, Book 2: Twice the Ring of Fire (1999)
Ghoststop, Book 3: For Love to Conquer All (1999)

I have no idea why it didn't show when I searched for Ghost Stop, but it's not on GoodReads and is even hard to find on Google. At least I know it existed.!

Great! Thanks for the update, Elle. Here's a link for the second book - Ghoststop Twice the ring of fire by Libby Hamilton.
