Probable date of publication would be 2006 or earlier, its part of a series or trilogy.

In the first book a servant(I think?) girl is picked to go to a city with an escort(man) . She's deceived about her purpose for going there but doesn't quite know it yet. She starts having affection for the escort on their journey to the city. During the travel they meet a group of travelers who are leery and suspicious of the escort. The girl brushes it off and continues to the city with the escort believing there may be some sort of relationship. When she gets there she is taken to some tower or building and has to do something with a clock for the rest of her life they tell her. The escort has a wife or girlfriend or something. She doesn't want to do the clock stuff and the travelers end up rescuing her. One of the men that is apart of the travelers group has affection for her. She leaves with them.

The 2nd or 3rd book
The girl is willingly marrying the man from the travelers group. The wedding is set to be in the woods somewhere. While she is getting ready she is kidnapped. She ends up in a palace or castle of sorts that has weird moving components to it. Her captor is a male. I want to say that possibly the house has some sort of AI(not for sure on this)? The male keeps her for some time, it turns out the male who kidnapped her has the same mother as the man from the travelers group. The man from the travelers group believed his mother died when he was young and did not know she had pretty much a whole other family. The male finally returns her to the woods where she was supposed to get married and they travelers are confused, it looked to them like she had fled.

The man from the travelers group(I almost want to say it was some sort of tribe) is the leader of it.
