but i've emailed my teacher like three times explaining the situation plus showing them both my copies so they know I'm not trying to cheat my way into an extension

see the problem with double submitting is that it enters your paper into the system twice, and you get checked for 100% plagiarism, which is totally stupid because hello, i WROTE them, but you know
