SOLVED: Children's/YA > SOLVED. Christian children's book about a group of kids having an adventure or solving a mystery, not sure. These lines come in the beginning "I saw God wash the world last night......hang it out to dry" [s]

Michael | 56 comments I don't remember much else about the book except that the book begins the day after a heavy storm and that's when one of the characters thinks about this poem: I saw God wash the world last night With His sweet showers on high, And then, when morning came, I saw Him hang it out to dry.

I think they have an adventure or something like that, but don't remember what it is. Only remember it was a Christian book since there are lots of references to God and believing and trusting in him and things like that.

Lakin (lakin_h) | 7 comments Not sure about the poem, but is it the Mandie series by Lois Gladys Leppard?

Michael | 56 comments No. The main character was a boy, not a girl. Also not sure if it was a series or not since I only read the one book.

Thanks for replying though.

SparksofEmber | 957 comments Do you remember any other details? Was it historical, fantasy, just regular everyday living-life fiction?

Sugar Creek Gang #1-6 Set (Sugar Creek Gang) by Paul Hutchens
The Seven Sleepers by Gilbert Morris

Michael | 56 comments It was just everyday living. The Sugar Creek Gang sounds very familiar. I have a feeling it may be one of those books. Just have to narrow it down to which one now (if my feeling is right that is).

SparksofEmber | 957 comments The Lost Campers starts after a lot of rain. But Amazon let's you read the first page and it talks about rain but doesn't have that poem. I read the first page of each book but only got through book# 12 on Amazon. I didn't look at the rest yet. (There's A LOT!!) lol

Michael | 56 comments Thanks so much. I've been looking through the books myself. There are 36 of them and seems quite a few of them have storms and rain in the stories. Anyway it does seem pretty familiar and I'm pretty sure now that its one of these books.

Thanks again for helping. I'll mark this as possibly solved.

Michael | 56 comments I just found the book. It's The Runaway Rescue. I was wrong about the poem being in the beginning of the book. It was somewhere in the middle. We can search for a phrase in the book on Amazon and I found the book like that.

Thank you so much SparksofEmber.

SparksofEmber | 957 comments Awesome. Glad to help! The Runaway Rescue (Sugar Creek Gang, #30) by Paul Hutchens for the link!

Michael | 56 comments Nothing to do with my original question, but I was wondering how you post a cover link like this?

message 11: by SparksofEmber (new)

SparksofEmber | 957 comments Just above the comment box is a link that says "add book/author" - click on it and choose the tab for book or author. And select the option at the bottom if you want to provide a text link or cover link. Then search for the book!

Michael | 56 comments Oh. I didn't even notice that. Thank you once again.

SparksofEmber | 957 comments I didn't know about it for months and months. I was always clicking on the "some html is ok" link and copying code. Felt like a dunce when I finally noticed the "add book/author" right next to it! :)

Michael | 56 comments Ha ha. That's just what I was trying to do. I feel like a dunce too now :)
