Though Goodreads lists its page count as 655, which is that of the main text of the novel; a 38-page Dictionary of Sea Terms, a four-page section listing arts and literature inspired by Moby Dick, a six-page comments and questions section, and a four-page bibliography, bring the total page count to 707.
