She checked her phone for missed messages

He glanced at her then patted her knee.
She smiled and put her hand over his.
SHe unbuckled and grabbed her purse, getting out.
He got down and met her at the front. He took her hand.
She smiled and took his hand then followed him up to the front of the house where she rang the doorbell.
He held her back, swinging their hands a little.
Serena opened the door. "Oh; hi." She smiled. "You must be Elian and Natalia."
"Hi," Elian said, having no idea who that was. He looked up at the house, wondering if they were at the wrong one.
"Hi hi." Reese appeared behind behind Serena. They could be twins. "Sorry; this is my daughter Serena; she'd staying home from school today."
Elian blinked and looked from Reese to Serena and then to Reese again.
Reese laughed. "Wait until you see my other daughter." She giggled. "Come on in" She moved to the side.
Elian was still looking between the two. He stepped in behind them after Natalia.
Natalia smiled and stepped in. "Serena, go get your dad okay?" Reese said.
Serena nodded and went downstairs.
Talbott was out flying for a bit before lunch.
When Serena couldn't find him, she texted him."Emily and Ramsay are on their way." Reese said.
Talbott came back and flew in from his balcony, then he walked downstairs with his wings out, not realizing anyone was there. "Reese!" He called, walking into the living room to find Elian gawking at his wings.
Even Natalia was gawking."Talbott, our guests are here." Reese said.
Talbott blinked, "sorry." He said and they disappeared into his back. He grinned. "Sorry, I didn't expect you to be here so soon."
"They're beautiful." Natalia smiled. "You're wings I mean."
"Thanks," he smiled. "I think I got a splinter between one of the feathers, I wanted Reese to help me out," he explained. "I don't usually walk around with them out."
Reese giggled, taking his hand. "Better get it out now before it gets worse." She turned to the couple. There's some snacks laid out in the living room; make yourself at home." SHe smiled, then nudged Talbott to the bathroom.
Talbott nodded and followed her. He let his wings back out when they were inside.Elian was still gawking.
Reese had him sit on the toilet, but backwards so his back was to her. "You're lucky that theyre both not fully human." She said, but was smiling."This is so cool." Natalia laughed.
"I hav wings too." Serena smiled.
"Yeah," Talbott smiled. "I was going to fly in from the window but I changed my mind," he chuckled. "Right wing," he said, wincing as he stretched it a bit."You do?" Now Elian gawked at her.
Reese put on her glasses and grabbed her tweezers. "How did you manage to do this?" She asked as she looked for the splinter.Serena nodded. "We all do." She said.
"It's pretty big, I think." He said and waited. "I landed in the forest."Elian gawked at her now.
"What for?" She asked as she located it. she moved some feathers out of the way and leaned in to see it better."Us angels at least; well, half." She shrugged.
"I don't know. I felt like I should so I did," he lied swiftly.It took Elian a bit before he stopped gawking.
"Okay." She shrugged. SHe carefully plucked out the splinter.Serena giggled and led them to the living room.
Talbott nodded. He'd been lying to her so often lately, trying to get everything ready for when he was gone so that they wouldn't need him.Elian sat down.
"There; got it." She showed it to him them tossed it in the garbage. "Please be more careful." SHe kissed his head.Natalia sat beside him.
"Thanks," he said and smiled a little. He stood and turned to kiss her, despite how guilty he felt about it. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her. "You're like... Katy's age."
She smiled and kissed him back. "Ramsay is still coming, right?""Who? "I'm fifteen." SHe said.
Talbott smiled and nodded. "Yeah." He said and pulled his wings back into his back."My cousin." He smiled and nodded. "She's 14(?)."
She patted his shoulders and washed her hands in the sink.((13))
"Oh; does she go to my school?" She asked.
He watched her a sec, "I'm going to go change." He said."Which school are you in?"
"Okay." She smiled while drying her hands."St. Joseph's High." She said.
Talbott smiled and kissed her head before he left. He walked upstairs and changed before texting Ramsay to see where they were.Elian nodded, "yeah, thats the one."
Ramsay replied with "almost there.""Hm; she just be an eight grader then; they seven and eights are in a separate building." She said
Elian nodded in understanding.Talbott nodded and dressed before he sat down to think about his next move.
"How come you aren't at school today?" Natalia asked.Serena bit her lip. "Headache."
"Talbott come on our guests are waiting." Reese called/
Elian sat back and texted his aunt to make sure Amelia was doing okay.Talbott sighed and walked downstairs, looking a little frustrated.
Serena left to go to the bathroom."You invited them over." She arguedz
"What?" Talbott asked, running a hand through his hair and made it stick up everywhere.
"Honey." She took his hands. "You invited them over, remember?"
