A couple of these I'm unfamiliar with but you have several that I want to read as well. The Studs Terkel book is about the period in history that I've been reading about lately and looks really interesting, and I love Dumas by haven't read The Queen's Necklace. Looks like you have some great reading ahead Emerson!
Thank you Susan! I think Studs Terkel method is really interesting, I discovered it with Working. And I've been interested in Their Eyes Were Watching God since hearing about it in the group. The rest is a mix up of things I love like Dumas and titles I'm not familiar with.

I really do have to read something by Terkel. Thanks!
A few moments ago, I received my latest Amazon delivery including:Villette
Shirley (both by Charlotte Brontë)
Silas Marner
Adam Bede (both by George Eliot)
The Age of Innocence (Edith Wharton)
Far from the Madding Crowd (Thomas Hardy)
The Three Musketeers (Alexandre Dumas)
The Forsyte Saga (John Galsworthy)
All eight of them are from Wordsworth Classics, mostly because I find it a comfortable font size. I don't usually splurge on books this way but I did a fair amount of overtime this month so I decided to treat myself. Some of the titles will go towards my Bingo challenge while others are just to satisfy my curiosity.
I'm ashamed to say I haven't read anything by either Wharton or Hardy!I've treated myself yesterday (without deserving it though), and it feels really good.
What's your favorite edition?

I hate to say it, but the only one I've read is The Three Musketeers. I've read others by Bronte and Eliot, but not these. I'm really behind in my classics reading LOL :)
Maddie,Last year, I read "Age of Innocence" and "Far From the Madding Crowd" and really enjoyed them.
I'd like to see the film adaptations for both of these.
I read "Villette" a couple of years ago when I was just getting started with GR group reads. I hope that you know French!
5 more books ordered :oD1 for another Book Group's September read: What A Carve Up
1 for my daughter (but I'll read it first!): Coraline (10th Anniversary illustrated edition)
2 more from my "Crazy 88" Personal Challenge list, namely True Grit and The Scar
1 that was down for 2017 but has "queue-jumped" cos I fancy it so much: Only Forward
Made a trip to the bookstore yesterday and bought myself some birthday presents :) The Woman in White, The Moonstone, Death in the Clouds, Murder in Mesopotamia, and Tales from the Perilous Realm.

Thanks! It's actually not until Tuesday, but I was already there looking for a gift for someone else, so I figured I'd look for myself too :)
I went to a local bookstore that is closing and picked up To Kill a Mockingbird, Cutting for Stone, and Palace Walk. The bookstore has two locations, so I need to see what the other store has that I can't resist.

Brina wrote: "A friend is sending me his extra copies of Moneyball and Shoeless Joe and i should get today :)"I remember reading Shoeless Joe in high school and loving it, but that was so long ago. There are quite a few books I remember reading in school, but don't remember much about them because I'm so old now and haven't re-read them :)
Renee I have been rereading many of my high school books this year. It has been a refreshing experience. This book is only 200 pages and bonus signed by the author.

just popped out at lunchtime to go to the bank...while strolling down the high-street wandered into a couple of charity shops to see what books they might have (obviously)...
bagged Suite Française for 99p!
I bought The Three Musketeers and The Count Of Monte Cristo from B and N!! I realized the versions I had were abridged!! I had no idea when I read them so long ago :( So now I'll try to read them in October/November! Today at my library sale I bought Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Angela's Ashes, and one I never heard of but saw it was a classic so I bought it: Billiards at Half-past Nine. All 3 for $2.50!!
ooh! Clockwork Orange and Housekeeping are on my 2017 Long List!speaking of which [whistles] I seem to have started buying some of them, prompted by spotting on eBay a slightly cheaper than usual copy of the hard-to-find The Harpole Report
plus a rather nice edition of Mr Norris Changes Trains
