I read this in 5th grade so 1998-1999. The cover has a girl overlooking a cliff and I believe the title had something to do with dolphins. I don't remember the plot but I definitely know it had to do with that girl...and again the title has the word "dolphins" in it.

I would be very surprised if this is not Island of the Blue Dolphins. This cover seems to match pretty well: Published in 1999 which would be exactly the right time frame too.

Yes this is the one. It is indeed Island o the Blue Dolphins. I kept seeing the title but the cover was always different so I wasn't entirely sure. Thank you all or helping me find this book.
