Well this was my first book by Amy Harmon and I've never read a Colleen Hoover book!
I read a review and it got me really interested and I saw it on my library website the same day and I grabbed it.
It reminded me of Radiance (although they have nothing in common).
What I really liked about the book were the characters and the world building. I would love to read more books set in the same universe.

Book: Maybe Maby
Finished: August 16th
Rating: ★★★★★
Review:
First of all, I have to say that this book tackles a personal topic for me, and that has obviously influenced my opinion of it. Objectively, I can see how some of the plot lines may be unbelievable or one of the characters a little caricaturesque, but I don’t really care.
Here’s one of the main reasons why. You know how in a lot of books you have these main characters who maybe are struggling with something or even doing quite well but, either way, at one point they fail miserably and have to pick up the pieces and pull through? It wasn’t like that for Maby. She plummets; fails, falls, goes deeper, gets darker, finds a scrap of light, holds on and survives. Over and over again. And this just made her more human to me, because I’ve seen it happen, I’ve seen the strength it can take to just get up in the morning or leave your home, so I found her more than commendable. It made me love her all the more.
Then, of course there’s the love interest. Let’s just say, it’s neither the bad guy nor the good guy, it’s the great guy she never saw coming. It’s the person that in order to choose him, she has to love herself.
From the outside looking in, he could seem a bit too good to be true, but Maby disserved him. And a girl can dream, right?

LMAO! I'll do that :D
My favorite Hoover book is Maybe Someday. I'm not a huge fan of hers though. I think after a while all her books start to give off the same vibe.
ShoSho sorry to be late welcoming you but I have been off line Tuesday thru just about an hour age. ANy help you need I am a veteran at this game also.
Thanks, Roger. I just finished the audiobook I was listening to and I'll finish the novella I started last night in a bit and I'll be ready to start this week's book right after the roll!
I have a 4th and a 5th in the series on top of my TBR. I'll come back when I decide which one to read for this week.
A question, I have hundreds of freebies but I don't know if they are on that freebie shelf. Does it have to be on the shelf or is it enough that I got it as freebie?
It has to be on the list. What I do if I have a book that might be on list is go to the book's main page then click on "top shelves" under all the tags at the right. Look to see if that specific book was shelved by anyone else as "freebies." If it was shelved by more than 5 people then that book will be on the list. On the list after the author is will say (shelved __ times as freebies). If your book was shelved let's say 7 times as freebies then find where on the list (shelved 7 times as freebies) starts. Which happens to be on page 48 of the freebies list. Then scroll until you find your book. It'll be there. Every time we get a link we have to find a book from I never just scroll through the list. I find a book I want to read that would fit that list then go through the above process to find it.
I hope that made sense.

Review: A great book about hope and second chances. Maddox Butler was a brilliant teenage all set to be a doctor 18 and already in Medical school. Jaris Black is the Same way but he come from a wealthy family while Maddox come from a poor, broken family. Maddox is wrongfully accused of rape and convicted also. He spend 6 years in prison. Jaris, both families and his friends at Mockingbird Place all know that Maddox s innocent and never stop trying to find proof. I like that this M/M romance also include the Romance of Maddox's mother, who is fighting cancer and his soon to be stepdad and we get to see Sally and Kevin finally get married. Maddox is Kevin's best man and Jaris is Sally's best beau. We Also get further insight into what is troubling Tony, One of the MC in book 5 which I want to read soon. I love this series

Review: If it wasn't for this challenge this would have been a DNF. I was completely frustrated with this book for most of it. No frustrated with Aidan. Get the f*** over yourself. I get it, you went through a traumatic experience but it was seriously pulling teeth trying to get him to open up. What gives him the right to be extra assertive in everyone else's life but when it comes to him we damn near have to coddle him. I was over it, and the story before I could like it. Ugh!

Final Thoughts:
This has always been one of my favorite movies of all time. I have no idea why it took me so long to actually read the book. It was just as fabulous. I absolutely loved it! And it was even more enjoyable because the narrator of the audiobook was Rosamund Pike who played Jane in the 2005 film adaptation. She did an outstanding job narrating.

I have the freebie Audio too. I have read the book many times but I haven't had the chance to listen to the audio yet.
I know there are quite a few audiobooks out there of the book. All with different narrators. But if you pay to add narration to the ebook freebie that audio is narrated by Rosamund Pike. She did a great job. But there are about 6 or 7 different narrators out there.
I see one is narrated by Kate Reading. I love her! I don't think I've ever listened to Flo Gibson before.
I hope we go to 50s for our next spot. I have a #5 in the series that I want to read over the weekend.

I love Kate Reading. I listen to Furies of Calderon and the rest of series and Paladin of Souls narrated by her. She was fantastic.
Kate has narrated many of my historical romances I've listened too. Plus she narrates (along with her real life husband) The Way of Kings and its sequel. AMAZING books. Her husband is probably the best male narrator I have ever heard.

I cannot recommend that book (especially the audiobook) enough. It's really long but you will get sucked into the story so much the hours will fly by! You can't deny that average rating. Over 130,000 ratings but still has an average rating of over 4.6 stars?? Crazy
Yep I saw it's over 45 hours!!!! You're right if that many people rated it over 4 stars then it must be good. Thanks for the recommendation :)

Review:
If I had to describe this book in one word, I'd use 'shallow'... so so shallow. It's not like I expected it to be inspirational, I wasn't even expecting to remember much of it later on, but even for a fun light read the characters where wildly two dimensional and the storyline was full of random senseless drama with no true resolution. However, I do recognise the effort in bringing the series' characters together and giving them a small continuation.
