Spot - 84
Book - The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith
Pages - 272 pages
How It Fits - #208 on the alternate list

review: Well. That was an interesting book. I can see why it's on the 'I Don't Understand All That Fuss' list.

I was able to get a sense of the love of country that the main character had. She truly cared for her people and the land. Basically the book was a series of short stories. The main character opens up a detective agency and then she talks about the cases that come her way. That's it.

Spot: 84
Book: Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan
Pages: 185
How It Fits: Alt: #324 on list
Date Finished: 9/28/16
Rating - 2 stars
Review - This one rubbed me the wrong way. I usually enjoy most LGBT books, but this one seemed to me to be written by someone who didn't know what they were talking about. I couldn't get past the beginning where the kid is 5 years old and his teacher writes on his report card that "Paul is definitely gay." Paul reads this on his report card on the teacher's desk and then looks through the other student's report cards and finds that none of them are "definitely gay." His teacher then has a heart-to-heart with him about what being gay means, and then 5-year-old Paul goes home and announces to his parents that he's gay. I'm sorry but NO PART OF THIS WOULD EVERY HAPPEN THIS WAY!!!!! After being outraged by this, I almost had to put the book down, but I slogged through it. The rest of it was OK but I just kept finding so many portions of the book where I kept thinking, "This is so inaccurate" or "This would never happen." If I wanted to read a book that was that far-fetched, I would have picked up a fantasy book. This one wasn't for me.

Review:
I love this book. It hit all the right spot. Sometimes I like to just jump in a series and read out of order. I love steamy to love. It work for me.
