R8: SS Team Power of Six (6)

I saw a couple of her books that I want to get

Review: I love this one. I wanted Wallace to end up with the asshole. The switch of POV so far in the story was something to get use too. . Wallace switch feeling from Matt to Jon happened too quickly with no explanation from him about his feeling for Matt. I love that this wasn't a fade black when they got together together. Overall, I would like to read a follow story to Jon and Wallace.

Review: The reviews gave me fair warning that this one had some pretty significant abuse, so I was prepared to read a lot of horrific stuff happening to Raze when he was in the Gulag. What I wasn't prepared as much for was the constant domestic violence Kisa faced at the hands of Alik. I felt like the author really dwelled on these scenes when one or two would have sufficed. Instead, they only made me question why Kisa put up with it - was she trying to punish herself? Was she really that afraid that he would be so much worse without her? Because he seemed pretty bad with her. Her justification just didn't work for me so it made me not feel all that sorry for her.
That said, I did enjoy her relationship with Raze and his own journey to get his revenge and redemption. The Russian mob setting and characters were an interesting change of pace for me, and I'm tempted to read more in the series just for more of the world. For now, it's not super high on the priority list.

That's good to know. Thanks, Kim. Do you think you'll finish the series?

I'm TERRIBLE about finishing series. Terrible. That's why I love this game so much. It forces me to read next-in-series books instead of just starting a bunch and then abandoning them, which I'm notorious for.

This is the second time I've read I Am Number Four. I enjoyed it as much the second time as I did the first. The authors did a great job of making me feel sympathy for the main character. It must have been so frustrating to move around as much as they did. And lonely, too. I've been trying to remember the movie. I think the movie stays pretty close to the book. Can't wait to continue the series.

I honestly gave up on this series. This was the only book I haven't read and I had no plans to read it. It was on "just not interested" shelf. The second book in the series is my favorite and I honestly had no investment in this series anymore. Overall, it was straight friends to lovers book. It enjoyable but nothing that sticks to you.

Review - I started reading this one without knowing anything about it. I was pleasantly surprised. It had a little of everything. It was funny. It was dystopian. It was magical/superhero-esque. Most surprisingly, however, was the premise of teens finding out they are the Major Arcana tarot cards personified. It was fun to try to figure out who was what card and what associated powers they might have. I can't wait to continue the series.

Review- I had a hard time getting into this fantasy novel. The story is good and the characters are great but it felt like I was reading in slow motion and the action was lacking. I will read the rest of the series hoping I will like it.

Instructions for a Broken Heart by Kim Culbertson

Review: It was a cute story but I never really connected with the characters. I thought the action was a little lacking but the setting and descriptions were amazing. So it had high points and low points. Overall I enjoyed it, just wish that Jessa had been fleshed out a little more. The whole thing is based on her relationships with Sean and Carissa, but we never got enough backstory to let us know their history. Missed opportunity to make a good story great.

Review - I didn't really care for the first book in this series. Mermaids (sorry... SIRENS) aren't really my thing, but it was interesting enough that I wanted to know what happened. I felt the same about Book 2. I don't feel very invested in the characters and what happens to them. I didn't really feel like a lot happened in Book 2. There wasn't much excitement. BUT, like the first book, it's entertaining enough that I want to continue the series.

I'm really enjoying this series. While there were some predictable parts, there were plenty of surprises as well. I like that combination. It's been great reading about how the Loriens are pulling together. The one thing that bothers me is how a 15-year-old boy can fight against so many enemies and survive. He only started training about a month ago. Oh well.

Review: Last of the nine minutes trilogy. Questions from the other books were answered. It was good, a little bit slow at times. Even though that ending was goos, was a little bit disappointed, I expected more suprises.

I only see yours and mine. I was about to roll but wanted to make sure everybody's reviews were in.

#2 in series

Finished: 8/4/16

Review: A fun and sexy trip back to Club Shadowlands. Kari signs up for a beginner class with her douchey boyfriend, only to find herself swept up by Master Dan. Dan is trying (unsuccessfully) to get over the death of his wife. They both agree to keep it casual (because that always works!) and end up having to work through their issues to find their HEA. Predictable, but enjoyable. I loved Master Dan and his journey to find a path through grief to life on the other side.

Review: I have read this book several times and still my favorite in this series. I actually started with the second book instead of the first and started the first after I read the rest of the series. It breeze to read and love the community of characters. I'm glad to hear that will be another book coming out in the future.

Review: Totally suprised me. L'm not a big romance reader but this one got me hooked. The relationship between Abby and Travis started with a bet but ended in them falling in love and also to conquer their past. They are so different that their story work. The supporting characters, America, Shepley and Finch were well written and fit into the story without being too annoying. Will read second one for sure.
