Rachel | 3 comments I'm new to the dystopian craze and can't get enough! I'm not sure which series to start next and was hoping for suggestions.
My favorites so far are Legend, Divergent, Infernal Devices, Hunger Games and Mortal Instruments (books 1-3).

message 2: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 203 comments Rachel, the possibilities are endless. Gone is amazing, plus the Chaos Walking series, and so is The Darkest Minds. I would start there.
Some dystopias yet that I haven't read but are really popular include Shatter Me, The Selection, and Angelfall. Hope that helps!

message 3: by Dayang (new)

Dayang (ddayang) You could check out the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. I have personally only read the first book, but omg, I really really enjoyed it. :)

Dayang (ddayang) Ruby wrote: Oh, ok. I definitely will check it out!"

You're welcome! :) Hope you enjoy it! :D

message 5: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 3 comments Thank you for all the suggestions. I'm going to try The Darkest Minds I think.

message 6: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 203 comments Good choice Rachel. Enjoy!

message 7: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1040 comments Some great recs here so far, but I'll add my list! I completely agree with Chaos Walking and Angelfall, they're really good! I'd add Unwind and Partials to the mix, they're awesome! And I really enjoyed the entirety of the Across the Universe series, which gets better with each and every book :)

message 8: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 97 comments Don't know if anyone here is into zombie apocalypse reads, and I'm normally not, but I've been reading Tracey Ward's books (The Survival and Quarantined series) and they are SO GOOD! I love the characters, and I find myself laughing out loud (and feel like an idiot 'cuz I'm alone! lol) Don't get me wrong, zombies are creepy and there's plenty of creepiness, but these books are so funny and utterly "unputdownable"! (yes, that's a word now, I'm told)

Writing on the Wall (Survival Series, #1) by Tracey Ward Backs Against the Wall (Survival Series, #2) by Tracey Ward

And the sister series:

Until the End (Quarantined, #1) by Tracey Ward In the End (Quarantined #2) by Tracey Ward

Anyways, check 'em out.

message 9: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 97 comments Ooh, ooh, you're into alien apocs? Okay, you have to check out these two: (I LOVED them, 5 stars)

The Arrival (The Eslite Chronicles, #1) by C.M. Doporto Defiance Rising (Rising Trilogy, #1) by Amy Miles

message 10: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 97 comments Sorry... I'm such a book nerd!

message 11: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 97 comments Yeah, to book nerds, lol. But that's us, and that's all that matters. That's a lot of "thats"... Ugh, I think it's bedtime. :)

message 12: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 97 comments Maybe a little. But not "zombie" creepy, so you're good, no worries. G'night :]

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1040 comments Ruby wrote: "Out of those I've only read Across the Universe, but I really wanna read Unwind!"

message 14: by Alison (new)

I can vouch for the Birthmarked series, it's awesome!

message 22: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1040 comments I totally agree with Tracy, Birthmarked is AWESOME. I can't believe I haven't read the sequel yet, stupid me!

But I've also read the entire Ashfall series, and it's one of my favorite post-apocalyptic series and the author is a really good guy.

Not a Drop to Drink is a pretty good read to, I must say!

Life as We Knew It...well, it's a lot slower than the others on your list and is more literary. I did like it, but not as much as the others you listed. But if you like emotional, powerful, literary works, I think you'll really like it.

message 23: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 97 comments David, did you know there are 2 more books after Birthmarked?? All really good!

Birthmarked (Birthmarked, #1) by Caragh M. O'Brien Prized (Birthmarked, #2) by Caragh M. O'Brien Promised (Birthmarked, #3) by Caragh M. O'Brien

message 24: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1040 comments Yes, I did know that and it's pathetic I haven't read them yet! For some reason I keep forgetting about them but I absolutely LOVED the first book so I've got to read them soon. So glad you enjoyed them too!

Try Article 5 by Kristen Simmons or The Darkest minds by Alexandra Bracken. ^^

I brought the whole series, so I hope I like it. ^^ How far are you into the series now?

message 27: by Craig (new)

Craig S | 4 comments Red Rising. Not entirely sure if it's considered Young Adult though. It's fairly violent at some points, but, then again, so is The Hunger Games...

Iris Jensen (RainbowRamble21) | 11 comments Craig wrote: "Red Rising. Not entirely sure if it's considered Young Adult though. It's fairly violent at some points, but, then again, so is The Hunger Games..."

Well you don't have to read YA all the time :-). Have not hear about red rising before, you must let me know if it is any good ^^

message 29: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 203 comments Red Rising is definitely YA. It's YA science fiction/dystopia.
I was not too fond of it, but I'm in the minority.
It's definitely different from many others in the genre.

message 30: by Iris (new)

Iris Jensen (RainbowRamble21) | 11 comments I'm currently reading Perccy jackson & the olympians, which is not a dystopian, but still a series which I need to read (I'm in the 3th book).

message 31: by Rodrigo (new)

Rodrigo Manzano Navarrete | 1 comments Try reading the Partials Trilogy. These books are absolutely amazing, and Im sure you'll enjoy them. These are the kind of books that stay with you long after you've finished reading them.

message 32: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (eliza_paints_stars_in_the_sky) Red Rising was a really good book in my opinion. I personally would highly recommend reading this book.
