Such a great sci-fi/fantasy novel. From start to finish I was completely hooked on Miranda and what the Eslites were doing on Earth. It was pretty cool at first learning that the Eslites were hot alien men that looked human.

So, the Eslites race is falling and they come to Earth to make an agreement in which they take girls ages 16 to 24 and do no more than 3 egg extractions to produce offspring in return to give Americ

First, I want to say that I was never a big fan of Sci-Fi, but when I read Doporto's The Eslites short story I changed my mind. Doporto delivers an action packed/ emotional roller coaster in her latest novel. There were characters that I either loved or truly despised. Everyone who knows me, knows that if you can get a reaction like that out of me, then it's a good read.

Miranda is a strong, intelligent character. Her sidekick, Kate, was not as strong as Miranda but did want to help (which made

This book was book of the week for a book club I am in and the author was kind enough to gift me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review, which also included the prequel and that was cool and I will also review that one on goodreads so look for that :) I really enjoyed them both.
A few of the others in the book club chose not to read this one because it was Sci-fi and about Aliens, now I'm not calling them out I just say that to bring up my opinion, I enjoy Sci-fi for the most part but I am

Note: I was given this for review from the author and my opinions are all honest.

The Arrival, which is the first installment of the Eslites has a really interesting concept to it.

Miranda Mays is in her teens when her home town is invaded by what we'd call aliens. They are Eslites. With their race doomed and needing to produce more offspring, their invasion comes down to one premise. Earth's women.

Set a few years on, we find out that young girls between fourteen and twenty five are required (unl

Firstly I would like to thank C. M. Doporto, author of The Eslites, The Arrival, for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this fabulous book.
A great sci-fi read with a nice twist. I loved this book and really enjoyed every bit of it. Totally unique concept and well planned out plot. Here we are taken to the time where the human race is facing grave danger due to the invasion of an alien rac

The Eslites is a science-fiction piece, taking place in our time and world. This seemingly alien race has been stranded on our planet, but after finding that we have females compatible with them they decide to stay and rule over us, using and abusing our woman for their purpose. To save their race. We follow a girl, Miranda Mays, as she is brought in for compatibility testing and kept for egg extractions to make new Eslites. However, not everything is as it seems and when Miranda and her

Again, another friggin gorgeous cover from author C.M. Doporto. I'm not the biggest sci-fi fan but I read the short story The Eslites and really enjoyed it so I was delighted to be asked to Beta this one. After reading the novella I was left with so many questions and this instalment gave me everything I had craved. I found this book to be a fast paced and exciting read. First a big thankyou to the author for gifting me with her books to review.

I will be honest, compared to the prequel, it took me a long while to get into the rhythm of this book.
But when I did, this book I found was well written. I loved the flow of the story. Everything just came together nicely.

As for Miranda... she was a character I couldn't really decide on what to think about her. She had her moments where she was cool and other times where I would just roll my eyes but she wasn'

C.M. Doporto I don't know how you come up with these amazing stories but keep it up.
Wow this book was amazing. I read it in 4.5 hours. I couldn't put it down. I was captivated from page 1. (No spoliers)
This is based on what the human race fears the most. An invasion and our women being forced into breeding with another life form.
I loved how unique each person in this book was.

What a adventure. Loved the characters. I would say the main character Miranda Mays is my favorite. I am normally a not big fan of this kind of stories of aliens taking over but this story pulled me in and kept me on edge wanting to see what was going to happen.
Story is about alien people coming to earth to taking young girls to use for their breeding purposes. They are without females in their race. So they are injecting and running all kinds of test on t

Aliens using women's eggs to further their species? I was sucked right in. I had to know more. Turns out there's a lot of mystery surrounding this whole idea, and even after finishing this book, I still have questions unanswered. But boy, did I enjoy the ride! I liked Miranda, I sympathized with her family troubles (her stiff father, her submissive mother, her little bro (view spoiler)

This is my kind of book: scifi, mystery, adventure, and a bit of romance thrown in for good measure. It is a solid story and well on its way to being a must-read for fans of the genre.

Overall: keep in mind that it is an advance copy, so there are still a few grammatical and spelling errors. However, the story is there and lends itself to being an amazing series. I look forward to seeing what happens next!!

I have two issues with this book...first, and least important because I am reading an ARC, are the grammatical issues. I hope that these will be corrected before the book is released. The second is how it about cliff hanger although agree that if you were going to have one, this was the perfect place for it. I just hate to wait!

What I liked is the concept (in that it was different). That an alien, but not so alien, race comes to Earth because they do not have any females to procreat

I had the pleasure of Beta reading this for the author. It was a book I had been looking for to reading since I had read The Eslites. Because this is a Beta read it is possible that some scenes may change, and some scenes may be added or deleted, which makes a review fairly difficult.

When I read The Eslites I said I would have liked the story more if it had been longer, I didn’t know then that Doporto had intended to release the book in ins

An Alien race arrives on Earth and begins to broker deals with the government. What they have to offer has the government salivating more than a St. Bernard knowing it is getting the Thanksgiving turkey to eat.

Dystopian/Alien themed books are not usually my cup of tea, but I was drawn into this book. Curious to know just what the aliens were planning to do. Ms. Doporto gives us a strong willed young woman, named Miranda, for a main character. The fate of many is placed in her hands. It was a bi

When the aliens came they made some demands. They needed fertile girls to get eggs from to help with their reproduction issues. Miranda Mays was one of those girls stationed at a medical compound run by the aliens. She needs to come up with a plan to save the human race from the overpowering alien force that was brought to Earth.

I did like the parts with Dimas. I wanted more interactions with him and I found the rest of the story to be a little lacking. I was looking for more and more of him. Th

I was really excited to get my hands on this book. I loved the concept when CM told me about it and the book did not disappoint. I received this book from the author for an honest review. This book was a really fast paced book for a sci-fi read. Alien invasions - check. Stealing our women to impregnate - check. Lots of action - check. Romance - check. Suspense - check. This book has it all. Oh yeah, the heroine, Miranda, tries to save everyone. Great read by CM Doporto - would definitely recommend it to everyone.

So... it's been roughly a year since I read The Arrival's prequel, well before the author actually made it into a series. I even mentioned that it had potential to be a good series, and here we are: it's actually a series!!! I signed up ASAP when I saw it available to be reviewed on David Estes Fans and YA Book Lover's R&R program, despite the fact I should probably be knocking out some books on a certain reading challenge. *coughs* 2014 TBR Pile Challenge *coughs*

Aliens arrive and want to breed with our teenage girls. Haven't seen a YA book about egg harvesting before, so unusual premise, but a little strange. Not much happens in this short book. It sets up the premise of the story and then ends with a major cliffhanger before anything is really accomplished.

I counted 17 versions of: "Mays are strong and never show weakness." A bit much for a 157 page novella.

Story was a little dark about taking eggs from teenage human girls to save an alien race, or el

Really enjoyable and fun book!

The fact that this books is so action packed made it really easy to read and get through! I also thought the concept of the book - aliens using human females for their eggs - was something I had never seen before in YA, and as dark as it is, it was still very interesting to read about! I should also mention that the last 40 pages or so were super exciting an

I do not usually read sci-fi novels, but I was intrigued by the premise of this story. The Human Race is in danger, but no one seems to realize it. They have accepted the Eslites and allowed them to do as they please in exchange for technology. It was decided that “Sacrifice some for the good of the whole” is the best step to ensure human survival. The sacrifice is made by young girls that have been deemed “worthy” by the Eslites

Why isn’t the next book in this wonderful series available yet? Admittedly it started slow and it does get wrapped up in technical details and daily life inside the sterile facility, but it did wrap me into Miranda’s constrictive life and her yearning for freedom and it is incredibly fun reading as Miranda embarks on her mission to free herself of the Eslite technology and find sympathetic authorities.. There is a tantalizing possible romance with the Eslite leader Dimas who looks like he’s out ...more
