Connie N. | 1321 comments Week 4 - Connie picks for Grace
I've read all of these and enjoyed them to varying degrees. All but the last are new-to-you authors, I think.

Dance - Wallflower in Bloom by Claire Cook OR All I Need Is You (Loving You, #2) by Wendy S. Marcus

Music - Shameless (Nashville Nights, #1) by Cheryl Douglas OR Rock It (Rule Breakers #1) by Jennifer Chance

Art - If I Were You (Inside Out, #1) by Lisa Renee Jones

message 113: by Grace (new)

Grace | 1733 comments Thanks for the picks Connie! I'm thinking about All I Need Is You or Rock It. I've been out and about these past two days but I'll get your picks up tonight or tomorrow.

message 114: by Grace (last edited Jul 23, 2016 08:29PM) (new)

Grace | 1733 comments For Connie Week 4 Road Trip
These picks are heavy on the historical romance, but I'm saving some contemporary books for the musician/artist roll.

The Secret (Highlands' Lairds #1) by Julie Garwood ~This is a medieval road trip book were the heroine travels to Scotland to be with her best friend when she has her first baby. It's not historically accurate at times, but I love the light hearted style of Julie Garwood.

Texas Destiny (Leigh Brothers Texas Trilogy, #1) by Lorraine Heath ~This is an emotional book with the hero escorting his brother's bride to town. Along the way they fall in love. Must have tissues when reading.

Lord of Scoundrels (Scoundrels, #3) by Loretta Chase ~I'm not one hundred percent sure, but I'm almost positive the heroine travels to Paris to meet the hero. A great historical with a smart witty heroine.

Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews ~I'm stretching road trip but the heroine does travel to Atlanta in the book so I'm counting it. This is a paranormal series, and I have to warn it starts out slow. When I first read it I didn't see the fuss, but about a fourth of the way through it becomes crazy good. The series just gets better and better and really picks up steam on the third book.

LaurLa | 5101 comments Stacie - Here are your Humorous Recs... At least I hope so! Humor is a funny thing (no pun intended). Your funny might not be my funny :-P

Divorced, Desperate and Delicious (Divorced and Desperate, #1) by Christie Craig - I always find Christie Craig to be humorous!

The Law of Attraction (Lawyers in Love, #1) by N.M. Silber - there were some good LOL moments in this series (and some hot ones!!)

Charmed and Dangerous (Bobbie Faye, #1) by Toni McGee Causey ... also known as Bobbie Faye's Very (very, very, very) Bad Day. Similar to Stephanie Plum series only WAY better! (imo)

I'm so far behind. I've only read week 1 and 2. Let's blame Wobble.

LaurLa | 5101 comments Geeky Recs for you, Stacie!

Nerd in Shining Armor (Nerds, #1) by Vicki Lewis Thompson - I haven't read this yet but it's on my TBR...

How to Seduce a Band Geek (How To, #2) by Cassie Mae - I'm not a YA fan but this was cute. It's also out of order, but I didn't feel like I'd missed anything when I read it.

Partner Games (Games, #6) by Jessica Clare - again, out of order, but you don't need the others.

The Name of the Game by Lisa Weseman - this was kind of fun.

Enjoy!!!

message 133: by Connie N. (last edited Jul 30, 2016 05:05PM) (new)

Connie N. | 1321 comments Connie picks for Grace - Humorous Romance

Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella - I didn't see Sophie Kinsella on your list. Have you really not read her? Her books are always entertaining and light, especially in audio.

Welcome to Temptation (Dempseys, #1) by Jennifer Crusie - I particularly enjoyed this series which was clever, with lots of dry-humor-type jokes. Also great in audio, if you're into that kind of thing.

The Sleeping Beauty Proposal by Sarah Strohmeyer - The whole concept of this book was funny, I thought.

Asking for Trouble by Elizabeth Young - This is more chick-lit-y, but still amusing. An English comedy type of story.

Humor is pretty personal, really, but I hope you'll find these light and charming, even if you don't laugh out loud. (And they'll all help you out if you're looking for cover colors for a challenge.)

Grace | 1733 comments Picks for Connie Week 5 Artist/Dancer/Musician

Tutu Deadly (Jenny T. Partridge, #1) by Natalie M. Roberts : This is a hilarious mystery series about a dance instructor. It reminded me of Janet Evanovich's writing. I laughed out loud a ton during this book.

Fix You (Second Chances, #1) by Mari Carr : This is a book about life long friends, one who happens to be a musician. It deals with cancer and is on the serious side, but this whole series was amazing. Plus Mari Carr has to be one of my favorite authors.

Hard as It Gets (Hard Ink, #1) by Laura Kaye : A tattoo artist who was former military. It's a romantic suspense and I enjoyed it a lot.

Surrender of a Siren (The Wanton Dairymaid Trilogy, #2) by Tessa Dare : A regency romance about an heiress who hides as a governess to follow her dreams.

message 135: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 1321 comments Thanks, Grace. Not sure which one I'll read, but I'm leaning toward Fix You.

message 136: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Sports romance for LaurLa!

Start reading the Cold Fury series by Sawyer Bennett

Alex (Cold Fury Hockey, #1) by Sawyer Bennett is #1 and they just get better from there imo.

The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1) by Jaci Burton

The Hooker and the Hermit (Rugby, #1) by L.H. Cosway

Hockey, hockey, hockey, rugby. Notice a theme?

Fran | 12286 comments Hi Everyone!

I can't believe it is the start of Week 6 already!

This is the last week of the challenge and therefore no need to roll for this week. You should all have one category left to read, having read a different category each week.

Enjoy your last category (mine is Western) - I hope you find a great read this week!

Thanks again for participating and I really hope you enjoyed the challenge :)

We are making some tweaks to the next round and will probably launch it some time in the Fall (look for sign ups in October).

Connie N. | 1321 comments Week 6 - Connie picks for Grace (Geek/Nerd/Opposites Attract Romance)

Make it Count (Bowler University, #1) by Megan Erickson - I haven't read this but it's on my TBR. I don't read a lot of Geek/Nerd books, but this sounds good.

Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning - Very much "opposites attract," although the there's not a lot of romance in this book. I wouldn't recommend the audio--the voicing for Barrons is not very good.

Prince Joe (Tall, Dark & Dangerous, #1) by Suzanne Brockmann - I liked this contemporary romance, with a bit of deception thrown in.

After the Kiss (Sex, Love & Stiletto, #1) by Lauren Layne - I've read most of the other books in this series, although I haven't yet gotten to this one. The characters in the Stiletto and Oxford series are all great, with lots of recurrence in each book.

Wicked Intentions (Maiden Lane, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt - I see you've read this author before, but I couldn't resist including it. I'm listening to the audio right now and finding it fascinating. Definitely an opposites attract story.

Thanks, Grace, for all your great picks.

Rolled: 2 = Artist/Dancer/Musician Romance

Picking Clover (Doctor 911, #4) by Bobby Hutchinson
Book Read: Picking Clover - Bobby Hutchinson
Date Read: 08.05
Rating: ★★★

I didn't read one of the recs, mostly because I was behind on other challenges and this one fit here too. The h is an artist.

I still haven't read for week 3 but plan to read Corralled in the next couple of days.

LaurLa | 5101 comments Stealthilicious Stacie wrote: "I rolled 3= Road trip Romance again"

Stacie, since we weren't supposed to have to roll this week, what category do you have left? I think it's 2=Artist/Dancer/Musician Romance but tell me if I'm wrong.

Since I accidentally repeated a category, I have left 1 and 6... whichever you find easiest to pick for is fine with me :-)
