The Weres gang up on Rachel because they dislike the idea of a non-Were being a pack alpha. What do you think of these events at this time and then later when more details about Weres and their natures emerge?

I thought it was more that they didn't like David's maneuvering to avoid joining another pack. At the time, I thought they were stringent about pack rules, etc. but cheated to guarantee the outcome. Also thought it strange that more than one pack was involved as that was a new phenomenon for me.

Honestly, I could understand their being upset that a non-Were was David's alpha. Trying to kill her, though, seemed a bit extreme.

It was extreme AND the fact that they cheated really annoyed me. For some reason, I feel that Weres should have more honor than that - I've been used to the Weres from other series and was disappointed.

So have I, Lauren. The first UF/paranormal series I read was Mercy Thompson and that's the Were standard for me. These behaved like rogue wolves.
