Leopold The Cow (leopoldthecow) | 13 comments The cover of the book is a girl on a boat at either sunrise or sunset, there is a golden glow. I read the book in 2012. I think the girl's parents are dead and her name may have been Charlotte. She has an older brother, and she is living with a relative or something. She is also going around dressed as a boy, I think she is Scottish with the story set during a a war or conflict. The girl is on a beach when she is captured, taken for a boy, and put into the hold of a ship with a whole bunch of other captured boys. It is later found out that she is female and they move her up into a cabin with other captured girls. The captive have exersize time on the deck of the ship, there are passengers on the ship aswell, they are told that the children are runaways. The gi is rambunctious, more friendly with the boys, with a close friendship with two of them. The girl is then sold with her two friends, I believe, with one of them then dying, there names are changed. After the friend dies the girl goes into shock and is like a sleepwalker, with her remaining friend trying to snap her out of it. I remember a scene where her owner tells them to write their names (their new ones) and the girl, in her sleepwalker state instead writes her old name in perfect script, to which the owner is surprised. In the end her elder brother, who had been involved in the fighting finds her.

Leopold The Cow (leopoldthecow) | 13 comments no, this isn't it. The girl wasn't accused of murder.
