Lilia turned around. "I don't know, I was trying to wash my face with warm water, but it was too hot." She looked down sadly.


"I can't help you" Max said even he wanted to he couldn't because she killed Winter, but she didn't need to know that he knew.

"Anything but cool water will do that. Did it go through you?" He asked somewhat saddened.

She shook her head. "Fine. Ill leave then," she said her head down.

"I don't know, I turned it off too quickly." She whispered. "I'm sorry did I do something wrong?"

Max nodded his head.

"It's just I can't. Last winter could. Didn't know if you could too…" he said.

She opened the door and stepped into the cold snow.

"What do you me by flow through me? Are you being quite literal?" Lilia tilted her head to the side.

Max frowned it had to be done.

"No did it go through you? Like your not even there?" He said.

"Bye Harrison." She said walking down the steps.

"No, I don't think it did." Lilia looked down. "I"m sorry," she whispered.

"Bye," Max whispered softly glad that she was gone. He gave a sigh of relief.

"It's alright." He said sighing. He turned away biting his lip.

She was a bit to quick to leave and she started to slip on the ice of the sidewalk. She couldn't steady herself.

"Cal, why do you have a chip on your shoulder?" Lilia asked cautiously.

Max started to eat his pizza, which was then cold. He knew eventually she will get mad enough to confess about killing winter.

He shrugged. "Lots of reasons."

Evangeline thought about magic saving her but she had no magic of her own. She just saw things and knew weaknesses. She had no power and so she fell her head crashing into the sidewalk and knocking her out.

"Well, I'm sorry about the other winter" Lilia whispered, "But that doesn't say I'm going tolerate this chip on your shoulder. I'm a person with feelings and so are you."

Max heard some commotion coming outside. He grabbed his winter to jacket, to see what it was all about. When he arrived to what everyone was talking about it, it was Evangeline knocked out on some ice.

"Just saying that having a chip on your shoulder does mean you ave feelings doesn't it?" He stated.

She was still knocked out but everything was so cold.

Lilia looked at him. "Then act like you have them. I never said you didn't have them you just advoid them, by the looks of it." Lilia was making it colder outside. "For example I don't like you very much. You killed me and I may accepted your apology, but that doesn't mean I'm over it. You must be friends with the old winter? How did it feel to replace winter? Like your replacing your friend?" Lilia asked

Max swore as it was getting colder. Someone called 911 and the ambulance was on its way.

He straightened and his tons grew darker. "I have plenty of feelings. All of them you will see. But you are not my therapist." He said coldly.

Evangeline's head started to bleed but it wasn't major. She started to wake up.

"I was trying to be sympathetic, but I guessed you don't know what that means" Lilia snapped looking at him coldly. "I can't believe I'm stuck with you." Cal confused her so much first he was serious and cold and then he was warming up and now he's acting all cold again.


The ambulance arrived and started to take a look at her.

"I do know what that means. And yeah you are stuck with maybe ill be more tolerable a later. " he said.

"What happened?" She asked looking up at the paramedic.

Lilia sighed and walked away she was tempted to go outside and let out her frustrations.

"You fell on some ice. These past few days have been weird weather wise," the paramedic said.

He went back to his room fuming.

"Oh. Am I okay?" She asked looking around.

Lilia opened the door and walked outside. She didn't know where she was, but it didn't matter. "I'm not staying here another minute"

"We have to take you to the hospital to double check" the paramedic replied.

He heard her and bolted to the door. "You can't leave. Not right now!" He said fear in his voice.

"Okay." She said trying to sit up. It didn't go so well.

"Why can't I leave?" Lilia asked. "Last time I checked you, you can't make me do anything that I don't want to do."


"Lay down for now." The paramedic pushed her back down gently.

"Seems like a good idea" she said her head spinning.

Lilia looked up at him frustrated and pushed him back with a frost. "You may have killed me to be a pawn in whatever scheme this is. I'll play my part, but I deserve to go where I want. Your not my parents"


Paramedic nodded. "We are going to lift you up on the gurny now"

"I don't want you being killed!" He said wincing.

She nodded but stopped as it hurt. "Where's Max?"

Lilia quickly backed the frost away. "I'm sorry, every time I get angry or frustrated at you something happens. I don't mean for it to happen."


"There's no Max here, miss." The paramedic.

"There was a boy here , but left as soon as the ambulance arrive," an on looker said.

"And that will happen. You'll practice and learn" he said heating himself up.

"Oh" was her only response. She vaguely wondered if he had done that to her. Make her fall down so she'd forget.

Lilia nodded this whole new world was confusing to her. She was still weary about everything.


Max didn't have anything to do it with it. However the new winter did and he doubted that he or she realized what they were doing.

"Come back inside? Please?" He a asked. "I won't bother you unless you try to leave,"

She waited to be put in the ambulance her head swimming.

Lilia looked at him and shook her head no and frowned. "I don't want to go in. I just want to go back to my old life." Tears rang in her eyes. "I thought I could push through and not think about it, but I'm wrong. I was graduating this year, I got accepted to my dream school and all of that is thrown away"

They plopped her into the ambulance.

Cal forced himself not to think about his old life. "I'm sorry. But you can't go back home."

She forced herself to keep awake like the paramedics had told her to.

"How do you do it? How do I forget about my old life?" Lilia asked looking up at him.

The paramedics rushed her to the hospital.

She waited trying not to wince in pain.

Lilia looked into his eyes. "Please Cal suggest something to me." She whispered softly


"Don't worry we are almost there" The paramedic said.

He sighed. "Force it to another part of your mind. Like that one time in fifth grade the teacher yelled at you in front of the entire class. You forget it until someone brings it up. " he said.

"Alright." She said staring up at the ceiling.

Lilia nodded her head slowly. She closed her eyes and thought about her old life and pushed it away far away. Reopening her eyes she smiled at him. "Thank you" she forced herself to forget her old life and maybe that was for the best now, but pushing problems away only makes them worse.

Mac decided to follow the ambulance

She forced herself to think about something else as she was taken inside the hospital. Anything to stop her head from pounding.

Lilia nodded. "Okay, " she smiled.

As he was riding he saw the ambulance servre on some black ice.

He gave her a faint smile back. "Okay. Lets go," he said stepping back inside.

Her stomach jolted. "What was that?"

She walked in the door with him. "Is that a smile I see" She joked.


"Nothing wr just slid on some black ice." They slid on some more black ice.

She gripped the gurney tightly.

Max stepped on his breaks.

Cal rolled his eyes and started back to his room.

Evangeline jolted in the ambulance. "What is happening?!"

Lilia frowned some and then sighed. "This is going to be a long life." she muttered.

The ambulance crashed into a guard rail.

Cal opened his door and the goosebumps finally went away.

She screamed as the back doors of the ambulance flew open.

Lilia walked in looking back at the outside.


Max mentally slammed the doors.

He sat on his bed looking through the frosted window at Lilia

Evangeline passed out from the sound and the dizziness.

Lilia sighed some she was bored and didn't know what to do.


Max stopped his car wondering what he should do.

Cal drew more on the window. Intricate designs that he can not otherwise do seeing as he cant pick up a pencil anymore.

Evangeline's head was spinning and she was breathing heavy.

The one option was the clear option was to take her and heal her, but what wouldn't stop her from killing him?
