Hope you guys like this one more than I did. I loved Amy's first novel so much. However, this one was nothing like it and something I didn't really enjoy unfortunately.

I actually don't think I'll end up starting this tonight. Instead I'm going to prioritize first before I start this one.

okay, so no chapter numbers but I went almost 100 pages

I stopped at AFTER: November 24th (and I read Janie's journal entry after)

I'm kind of sad - so far - for how much she disregarded Micah. She just doesn't seem to care about him or his feelings. I hope she's a better person than I think right now (hide spoiler)]

Micah(view spoiler)[ I'm not sure what's going on right now but it sounds like typical Janie got him into something pretty deep. hopefully he won't pay for her schemes like he did all the other times (hide spoiler)]

wow, this one was not at all what I thought it would be

Janie(view spoiler)[I had no idea this story was about a rape. And I think, had I known that up front, I would not have read this one
but as it was, the rape was so far into the story, I was pretty invested and finished it (hide spoiler)]

Everything. Anything(view spoiler)[ I think this is tough. Janie spent so long toying with Micah, just expecting him to always be there when she fell and wanted him. Tough that the one time he chose to try to stand up for himself - the time she got him SO DRUNK - that it was the one time she couldn't handle it (hide spoiler)]

Dewey(view spoiler)[ is by far my favorite person in all this. he's right, they were toxic. Janie and Micah had a secret friendship that was tearing poor Micah apart.
But Dewey was amazing. Even if he had a crush on Micah, he wouldn't let them cross it. and he was always there for him, just like a good friend. I mean, he definitely gave him too much alcohol. but a friend that does to your hospital bed every day and tells you the same things over and over, and even after, at home. goes there to get him out of bed. Dewey was awesome (hide spoiler)]
