Kazen

Current pattern (an idea to start!): Airplane (add an additional power square to your board)

Bold goals are unclaimed goals.
Non-pattern squares are to be filled with finished books, first come first serve :)

Book with over 50k reviews - Brianna
Book title contains Been - Ella
Picture - inkblot
Picture - O
Picture - mittens - Kazen (bank) DONE!
Book genre is suspense - Caly
Book title starts with V - Ray
Book is current BOM - Rose (bank) DONE!
Picture - raccoon - Lory
Book has been borrowed - Kazen DONE!
Book made into TV - Karin (bank) DONE!

message 3309: by Kazen (last edited Aug 25, 2016 04:12AM) (new)

Kazen In the Bank (possible squares)

Kazen - In Our Own Hands - I3 (hands, mittens)
Bethany - Brave New World
Tori - The Marriage Bargain
Karin - Sex and the City
Rose - Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda - O3 (BOM)
Rose - Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore - N4 (0:00 = 24:00 in military time)
Lory - The Infinite Sea - O2 (Poseidon)

eta: What do you guys think about airplane for the pattern this time? The reward is to add an extra power square, and we could double that up with the tree bonus (make all x2→x3) on a future board, bwahahaha.

eta2: 50k reviews is harder to find than I thought. Not 50k ratings, but reviews.

Ella | 367 comments 50k review books (some famous ones if anyone is interested)-
Harry potter
Twilight
Hunger games
To kill a mocking bird
The fault is in our stars
The book thief

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments My book from Deresden is both borrowed from the library and has been made into TV. He also works with a police officer in the series.

When I finish reading Maze Runner today, that can probably cover first in series, but I can think of anything in the airplane shape it works for.

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments Also the SO has been nagging me to read more of The Dark Tower. Book 2 has 50 thousand views, and I'll read it for this IF no one else wants it, but I am not laying explicit claim to it.

NEVERMIND BETHANY DOESN'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RATINGS AND REVIEWS.

message 3317: by Lory (new)

Lory | 629 comments I have a borrowed book I have been trying to read for a while. I also have a bunch of books from the library if that works.

If books from the library work, then the "borrowed" book I have works for Suspense. The Fifth Assassin (Culper Ring, #2) by Brad Meltzer I can take any of these.

Sex in the City will work for made into TV (I think it was mentioned, but not listed).

message 3318: by Ray (user2637) (last edited Aug 25, 2016 06:57AM) (new)

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments Some ideas:

* The O picture has a little person inside, which very much makes it look like a Cyr wheel or monowheel, so anything related to circus arts, gynmastics, acrobats, Canadians, or inventors would work (Daniel Cyr is Canadian). I recently became obsessed with monowheel and am thinking of building myself one, though I'm sure I will injure myself on it!

* Or, the O is a 'golden ring' with a person trapped in it, i.e. wedding ring? => The Marriage Bargain?

* Bunch of psychology used in Brave New World => inkblots

* 24 people listed Brave New World as "suspense" (dunno if that's enough)

* Sex in the City = book made into tv

* It's not on the pattern, but I think any book I read can be put on i5 because the Hawaiian Bobtail Squids have a member named Dessiree and I am Desiree. Close enough!

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, it has 548 listings as Suspense so is that enough?
If not I will give up the square and it will work for the police badge in the corner because it has to do with solving a crime.

Off to start reading! Yeah!

1st in series, or since the main character does a bit of roughing it camping out overnight, the tent might work. 45,465 Reviews... soooo clooooose.

My general review: Meh. Could have done a lot of cooler stuff with the concept. Will not continue series.

Brianna Andreda | 422 comments I can read Me Before You by Jojo Moyes for a book with over 50k reviews. It has 62,230 reviews.

OR

I can read Fangirl as a book borrowed. I'm borrowing it from the library.

OR

I can check and see if City of Ashes has been adapted into the Shadowhunter TV series yet. I'm not sure which books has been adapted yet and that's the second book.

For Bingo the genre needs to show up on the book's main page, sheer numbers aren't taken into account.

Tammie | 4553 comments Looks like our airplane is all claimed...I'd like to claim 1st in series.
Would prefer to read Slave to Sensation...this is labeled as #1... However there are two novellas that come before labeled as .5 and .6 I think. Please confirm if this does not count.

If it doesn't work, I'll read Alex...also 1st in series

Or if I'm reading the list wrong...either could count for ink blot as that's a matter of interpretation OR I'm borrowing both. Not sure about man in O...need to read...could be possible as that's open for interpretation as well.

No lives saved today - elective surgery, and they kicked me out as soon as they picked up a scalpel lol Even going into an OR is rare for me though, so I eat up every minute!

Kazen Tammie - if the book is marked as #1 it's fine, no matter what comes before :)

The goals in bold like inkblot, etc, are still open and are for the airplane, so if you like have at!

Could use the dog, for the dog that recognizes she's a zombie, the police badge, because she works with the police a lot, it was borrowed, and it's the first in the series, so take your pick or bank it based on what other people have called dibs on!

I actually really liked this book. It was generally kind of predictable, and had a lot of similar plotish things to the show iZombie, but it was funny and familiar and a little weird and I liked it.
