Oh my, there are a bunch!
Sonia's: Silver Bullet (Preternatural Affairs, #2) by S.M. Reine Silver Bastard (Silver Valley, #1) by Joanna Wylde Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson, #5) by Patricia Briggs
Karen's : The Silver Dream (Interworld, #2) by Michael Reaves
Amanda's: The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick Streams of Silver (Forgotten Realms Icewind Dale, #2; Legend of Drizzt, #5) by R.A. Salvatore
Kelly's: Quicksilver (Arcane Society, #11) (Looking Glass Trilogy #2) by Amanda Quick
Tea's: The Silver Chair The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis My Lady Quicksilver (London Steampunk, #3) by Bec McMaster Silver Skin (Cold Iron, #2) by D.L. McDermott Vision in Silver (The Others, #3) by Anne Bishop

I tried to take out the duplicates -- seems like everyone has read Silver Bastard (Silver Valley, #1) by Joanna Wylde .

Not 100% sure on some of these, like does "Quicksilver" count? Or does "silver" need to be its own word? Also a lot of them are #2, 3, 11 in a series so....

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments re: Milon's Boast. Okay, I went through our 18 banked books (+3 on this thread page that haven't been added yet) and checked the 5 mods' shelves for them and this is what I found:

Tammie's Luring a Lady (The Stanislaskis, #2) was read by Tea. (has BCMNOR)
Pragya's The Silver Linings Playbook was read by Amanda. (has CMNR)

Ray's (not yet finished) Chocolat was read by Karen. (so far has BCMNR, mention of silver in text)

Margaret is reading Behind Closed Doors which was read by Amanda. (at least has BCMNR)

That's 2 done, 2 in process out of 7 needed books for Milon's current boast.

@Tammie - I noticed Kelly has read a bunch of the On Dublin Street books, so I poked around some more. Sadly, she's not read #6.5 yet but she read Moonlight on Nightingale Street (#6) which is on your TBR. Also Until Fountain Bridge which would be a re-read for you, albeit a short one. Just thoughts! :D

ETA: "Boasts will be posted at random intervals through the rest of the challenge." So I think that means we'll continue to get them even if we don't finish this one.

Nice! You're welcome. :)

Bethany wrote: "I'm also currently reading The Golden Compass who was read by someone, though I'm not sure who."

Tea and Amanda both have it marked 'read' but Amanda doesn't have a date in there, so probably easier to go with Tea. :)

....so I forget what the prizes are for these (I should really go read it again) and just assumed we like prizes..? Not sure if we even want to go to the trouble for this one. If we do, there's still another book needed, as we have 2 done, 4 planned/in process out of 7. See post 2499. :D

Ugh, that's no fun. I read a novella in that world and the only good thing it had going for it was talking, metal-smithing polar bears. Saw the film long ago & it wasn't good either. :(

Kazen Lory wrote: "Are we planning on respinning this week?"

I'm thinking yes :) We've had quite a bit of silver, I think, and we'll go down to one color bonus. So if the word is icky we can just complete it once and move on.

And the Milon boosts don't disappear during Wheel, so we can do that when it fits well :) Prize is one Omni-bonus.

Silver needs to refer to the color. Quicksilver is a reference to the metal mercury (liquid at room temperature!) so it won't count, I'm afraid.

Silver and gold are a little touchy because often something can be "silver-like" and it's hard to tell if the author meant the metal or the color. In those cases we accept it, but quicksilver is something else entirely.

Jumping a little out of order to say - this is perfectly fine!! For every silver book we need a raft of other books to fill in the holes, so all books work nearly all the time. :D Read what makes you happy!
