~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments I'm going to go on record as saying reading in a hammock is the best thing ever.
My dream house would be in the city though. Or the suburbs. I want a yard. I think? To be honest, I've never lived somewhere over two years, so it would be nice to own anything. But I kind of want something small. Apartment with a roof garden in a city. Perfect.
It was really good! For such a big book it was a fast read when I got into it :)
Love the bath! I always read in the tub!!
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments When you say hammock I'm imagining something like this...
description
I don't think I can though, I'd be dizzy and I feel like the rope would be cutting through my skin and cause marks. I've got this condition a little bit like dermatographism where the skin becomes raised and looks a bit puffy.
But if we're talking about this hammock...
I'm not sure if I can get actual reading done. It's so cozy! I loved looking at the hammock photos Noa.
Where are you btw Noa? I think you mentioned it during first few weeks of WOBBLE but I forgot. :)
Skandia (sfgirl) | 1724 comments I guess I'm not much of water person because reading in a bath is too weird for me and I'm clumsy, I always drop things. Don't want to happen this to my books or even worse ... My Precious (it's my Kindle) :))
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments I named my Kindle Kathleen. Haha so original and unique! ;)
Bought it 2 years ago and best purchase ever! I wanted to buy a case from Klevercase but I balked at the price. So mine's very bare!
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments This one's for you Noa.
Viji | 389 comments I love all the reading places featured. Of course, I cannot use hammocks - because of my weight and injured hands. Have been warned by doctors to be away from hammocks. Poor me!
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments What's your favorite reading spot Viji?
message 1412: by Viji (new)
Viji | 389 comments Nowadays, only my bed! I can't sit and read for long due to my health issues and I am always horizontal when I read. The only exception is my more than 1 hour travels in the car - to overcome the pain caused I immerse myself in a book. That helps me!
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Viji, for you.
Ange (bentleyrise) | 484 comments Hey everyone, its nearly 9pm and my nephew (4 years) and daughter who turned four today are still awake in bed giggling away. I keep putting my stern face on and telling them to sleep but secretly remember how I used to love having sleepovers and talking till i couldnt keep my eyes open. Im gonna have two grumpy preschoolers on my hands tomorrow morning.
I also found Peregrines too kiddy, was expecting it a bit more creepy and was disappointed. But then I read full horror so any young adult horror is always going to come across as a bit on the lame side.
You guys are killing me with all the dreams are free reading paradises.
Ange (bentleyrise) | 484 comments Finished Alice in Zombieland thank god.
~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments I live in the Northern Marianas Islands.

I'm a person who reads in the water, but a friend once borrowed a book and accidentally dropped it in a pool, so I always make it a point to remind them to not take my babies near water if I let someone borrow.

Kindles are like another bf <3 Hopefully, I get another one soon.

Okay, so I'm only at 15% of Water for Elephants, so no spoilery comments, but should I watch the movie when I'm done?

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Are you enjoying Water for Elephants?

message 1423: by ~~~N~~~ (new)

~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments I don't know. The beginning is interesting, but I have trouble with books set in the recent past because I imagine every character as a corpse.
@Skandia, It's really nice. I'm a 45 min walk to the beach and a 30 min walk to the cliffs and caves. I live on a cliff that overlooks it all.
Let's camp right here. See that corner where there's a beautiful palm tree? That spot.
Corpse? In that case, I suggest you watch the movie then. Hope it removes the corpse imagery you've got! But Pattison (not sure if I got it right, the guy from Twilight) will always look "twilight-y" to me. And yes, that wasn't a compliment.
Let me ask about the wheels if it passes judgment. Half of it is covered.
Viji | 389 comments Event : 4 - Fight Club
I have completed my 3 hour sprint and sent the details to the mod account.
Phew! It was great. I do not how fast I am but enjoyed the experience thoroughly. Thanks for allotting me this slot.
My best wished to the Kathleen, Noa and Karishma - the Mega Sprinters.
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments description
Glad you enjoyed the sprint Viji! I'm not really a fast reader, just average :) And free this weekend so, sprint it is!
I wonder maybe I should just read one of the FEVER books to inspire me to read 4 hours straight haha!
Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut  (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments heheh kathleen. Actually my copy of Darkfever arrived last night so I may start them soon also :-)
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Ooooh what cover did you get? The kid friendly...?
message 1439: by Viji (new)
Viji | 389 comments Thanks, Kathleen. I have not read any of the Fever books. Who is the author? Are they fast moving? What genre does it fall into?
As you said, sprint it is. It was fun and it gives the impetus to push oneself to maximum reading. There may be lot of people who are very fast but we can be happy that we also participated and tried our best. Enjoy yourselves!
Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut  (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments this one: Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning so yeah the kid friendly version :-P
message 1441: by kat (wanderfulbooks) (last edited Jul 09, 2016 06:53AM) (new)
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments @Nikk: I hope you come to like it. Jericho freaking Barrons and all ;)
@Viji: The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning is an urban fantasy composed of (originally) 5 books but the author has decided to add another 5 to the series. It is fast paced.
message 1442: by ~~~N~~~ (new)
~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments I'm thinking I'll read Fire Touched for my sprint. Patricia Briggs books aren't the fastest reads, but it will definitely hold my attention. If I finish it in the time, I'll start The Knife of Never Letting Go.

message 1443: by kat (wanderfulbooks) (last edited Jul 09, 2016 07:33AM) (new)

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments I'll let you know when I'm done. I started reading then got distracted so will need to start over again.

I will be reading A Court of Thorns and Roses, it's YA so should be a faster read. If I finish and I still have time, I'll start In the Woods or The Slow Regard of Silent Things.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Good luck those of you sprinting tonigt. I am actually off to bed but might manage a bit more of the The Iron Trial before I go to bed.

Kathleen I quite liked a court of Thorns and roses but I absolutely adored the second book in that series A court of Mist and Fury

Noa, I actually borrowed a Patrick ness book from the library today: A Monster Calls and i am thinking of reading it or Bay of Sighs by Nora Roberts next for page jumping 200-250 pages along with Marked in Flesh for the higher one.

Just need to finish Truthwitch and The Iron Trial which should be in the next day or so. I am also starting a buddy read of The Kiss of Deception and not quite sure where that is going to go yet.

Anyhew I am off to bed G'Note and Good luck all :-)
