You've convinced me Anna. I'l see if I can get hold of both.

Alexandra (alex2911) | 677 comments Oh dear, I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to read for this toppler. During the last toppler I was participating in I was still working and I could sneak a book in the office and do some secret reading. Now with two little kids it's not fogging to be too easy to have time to read - thinking about loooong time-outs in the playpen though ;-).

I'm thinking about reading Like water for chocolate, too, Cherie. It's a great list that you have!

Click on the add book/author link above the text box, Alexandra. You can then search for books and authors and you just click on the 'add' tab next to the book/author to link them in a post :)

Oh, I probably should not have said it like that. It is not that I did not like it, but for some reason, I started it at times when there were so many other books catching my attention that I kept putting it away to finish others. Probably because I owned it, and did not need to worry about having to wait for it - it would always be there when I wanted it again. I actually own two copies, bought at different times for different covers, of course.

What book are you going to start with? I think I will go for The Slow Regard of Silent Things.

Alexandra (alex2911) | 677 comments Yay, only one more day!

I will probably start with Beijing Doll (sorry, but I cannot link books when writing from my mobile it seems) as it should be a fast read and will count for the geocaching challenge as well.

I'm starting with A Murder Is Announced on audiobook courtesy of my local library. I'll probably be cooking tea at 'blastoff' time (5pm tomorrow in the UK), so fingers crossed I don't get distracted and explode anything.

I also plan to read a chapter of An Idiot Abroad: The Travel Diaries of Karl Pilkington every night before I go to sleep: a visit to one wonder of the world per night will cover most of it. I've already installed the book under my pillow.

My first main read will be Skellig, which is fairly short and light reading - I hope. That's three books taken care of... then I'll see what else I can squeeze in.

That's the (current) plan anyway...

Exciting!!!

Almeta (menfrommarrs) | 11462 comments I'll probably start with Galápagosby Kurt Vonnegut.

Kurt and I don't really get along but I'm always giving him another chance because of his popularity.

If it doesn't work out this time I will no longer be breaking up with "It's me not you"...I'm blaming him!☻

Lol, Almeta! I agree though, if it doesn't work out this time it is definitely his fault ;)

That must be a pretty nice place to live. I have never been to Shetland but I have been elsewhere in Scotland and I absolutely love it there. I live in the SE of England.

I remember you saying that you really enjoyed it, Cherie. I have been wanting to read it for ages. I'm hoping it might tide me over until the last book in the 'Kingkiller Chronicles' is released.

I have this one on my challenge too, Almeta. My head keeps telling me that I should give Kurt a try, but the rest of my body recoils. I am not sure why though. I will be waiting to hear if you are going to break it off with him. :)

Is he getting any closer? I have not seen anything about a date for the next book.

Yeah, I'm thinking that the The Slow Regard of Silent Things will not be enough to "tide you over"!

I want to read this series, but have been putting it off waiting for the next book, so that I can read them closer together in sequence. If you are like me, you will have to go back and re-read in order to remember enough when you are ready for the next book!☺

Patrick Rothfuss has a wonderful sense of humor. Try reading The Thing Beneath the Bed in The Adventures of the Princess and Mr. Whiffle series.

I also really enjoy his book reviews.

Shamefully, I think I might be part of the subject which he satirizes!

Am I so close to the subject that I just don't get the point?

Or perhaps too far removed from reality to see the joke? lol!

I'll let you know how I like it, the reviews are quite mixed - but it's nicely short so perfect for the toppler

Lol, I don't think The Slow Regard of Silent Things is going to tide me over for long either! I reckon I will have to re-read the first two books in the 'Kingkiller Chronicles' before the last book is released, it has been a while since I first picked them up and I have a feeling we could be waiting at least another year for this third book.

Glad I've tried it...and there are many more shots left, which will be saved to share with friends. What's your arrival time Janice?
