Thank you! The link doesn’t work for me either.

I‘ll probably start reading on Monday, April 1st.

Pink | 5491 comments Here's a link to The House of the Spirits thread

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I've amended the buddy read schedule so the link works now and added Riders in the Chariot to the list, with a link to the discussion also.

message 253: by Milena (new)

Milena (milenas) | 542 comments Thank you so much, Pink. And we're very happy to have you join us, Philina. I will probably start right on April 1st also. I will be finishing a book right around that time so it's perfect timing.

Thank you, Pink!

message 255: by Philina (new)

Philina | 1085 comments Hi, Pink,

Could you please add Like Water for Chocolate in for September?

I know it’s a long time in the future and we might try to nominate it, but we (the House of the Spirits lot) want to read it together for the Bingo challenge and we cannot schedule it earlier.

message 256: by Pink (new)

Pink | 5491 comments Yep, September is fine, I’ll add it to the list now and we can create a thread nearer the time :)

Terris | 4395 comments I am planning to read The Caine Mutiny in June as a Buddy Read. And how appropriate since I just saw that Herman Wouk died -- at the age of 103!

Didnt know that Herman Wouk died! I'm going to add War and Remembrance RIP

message 260: by Philina (new)

Philina | 1085 comments I guess we can cross out Like Water For Chocolate now, as it won the group read.

Terry | 2435 comments I am concentrating on books I haven’t read, so I won’t be joining, but this is a magical book and hope you all enjoy it as much as I did!

message 263: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Can I join in on The House of the Spirits and The Caine Mutiny please?

message 264: by Pink (new)

Pink | 5491 comments Melanie wrote: "Can I join in on The House of the Spirits and The Caine Mutiny please?"

I think The House of the Spirits buddy read took place in April, but you may find someone else interested here. If not, the discussion threads stay open so you can read and add your thoughts in your own time.

Caine Mutiny is excellent. Sad to say the author has recently passed away. He wrote immensably readable books. Winds of War is one of my favorites.

Marilyn | 720 comments Melanie wrote: "Can I join in on The House of the Spirits and The Caine Mutiny please?"

Join in on The Caine Mutiny. Some people are a good way into the book already. Others, like me, haven't started.

message 267: by Terris (new)

Terris | 4395 comments Like me, too. I haven't started yet -- but I'm going to!! :)

message 268: by Philina (new)

Philina | 1085 comments Pink, could you please add Eventide (Plainsong #2) to the schedule for December.

message 269: by Newly (new)

Newly Wardell | 172 comments Ive done that thing where I started a book and it's almost the end of the year and I havent finished it. I really want it off my reading list before the end of the year. SO if anyone is available and in a similar situation, talk to me. My book to finish is Catch-22 which I dont hate but for some odd reason cant finish. What's yours?

message 270: by Christopher (new)

Christopher (Donut) | 140 comments My 2019 list is hopeless, but I think I might finish Varieties of Religious Experience, a Study in Human Nature by the end of the year.

Sue K H (sky_bluez) | 3694 comments I'm not sure if this thread is being used anymore so I'll search around for others, but I was hoping to get a Buddy Read started for Olive Kitteridge for May. I know Brina was interested and possibly Kathleen.

I have to start it by today or tomorrow because It's due back to the library in 5 days!

Minnie (minniesmiscellanies) We I finally managed to set up a thread for our buddy read of Shakespeare's history plays at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
The schedule is one play per month, starting with Richard II in May and ending with Richard III in December.

Cynda | 5234 comments Pink, might Nidhi and I have buddy read thread? We plan to start Ulysses by James Joyce on August 8. I will read for as long as it takes me to get some understanding, so I do not have an end date. Is that okay? . . Anyone is free to read with join convo.

message 288: by Pink (new)

Pink | 5491 comments Hi Cynda, since we already have discussion threads for Ulysses, we ask if you can use those for your buddy read. I’ll link them in the 1st post for you.

Pink, looking ahead to 2021, there are a few people so far
who would like to read the prequel to Love Medicine. Can we make that official for the Buddy Read schedule? Tracks by Louise Erdrich is the book we would like to read in Jan 2021.
