Hi, Elena (siriusedward), Kathleen, and I are planning on reading The Mill on the Floss in February. Others of course welcome to join. I'm guessing that's a book that already has a thread somewhere?

Oh, wow!!! That sounds REALLY tempting you guys. I will think about it and get back to you. ;-)

Do! It will be fun.
Okay, okay, I will make every effort to join in. You twisted my arm. I'm excited, another George Eliot book - and I hear that it is "one of her most powerful and moving". For me, if it is even close to Middlemarch it will be a masterpiece! ;-)
Leni wrote: "LOL! Glad you're joining us, Bat-Cat. Good thing Kathleen is so persuasive. ;)"Thanks, Leni. It should be fun - like the band is back together again. ;-)

Great analogy, Bat-Cat! :)

And yes, Leni, I think Kathleen does seem to have some kind of hypnotic power over me. ;-)"Ha! I just couldn't resist joining Leni and Elena, and didn't want you to miss out either. :-)

All for one and one for all! And as many others who want to join our band of George Eliot musketeers ...

The more musketeers, the merrier - come on the road with us! ;-)

That's it! The next time I'm in want of a reading buddy, I'll just go to the buddy request thread and order four fried chickens and a Coke, and some dry white toast, and announce I'm on a mission from God. I'll let you all know what book to read after you agree to read with me. ;)

We haven't read that as a group read yet, so you can set up a new buddy read discussion thread for this if you like. I'll add it to the schedule now :)
I'd like to start Moby Dick in a week, more or less. Does someone feel like doing a buddy reading with me? :)
Brina wrote: "I started The Maltese Falcon. Is anyone else planning on reading it("yip! I'm up to page 50 - enjoying it so far - very similar to movie (which is one of my faves)
I can't find an old thread for it - do we need a new one...?
Whoo, lots of buddy reads on my schedule for March (Arthur, Dr. Zhivago, Phantom) plus Canterbury Tales. Hmm, how to plan this. :)
Pink - Thanks for putting The Great God Pan down for April :o)buddy-read-wise this month I've just got Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions - not sure exactly when I'll start, but quite short so shouldn't be a problem to fit it in with my other reading...
No problem Darren. I'm looking forward to joining you for Flatland, I've had it on hold at the library for weeks, but thought I'd check project gutenberg and it was there. I know, you've probably already told me this somewhere before! Looking forward to starting anytime :)
Anyone else still up for Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions?I still plan to read it, but probably not until later in the month.
Sarah wrote: "Anyone else still up for Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions?I still plan to read it, but probably not until later in the month."
Yes definitely, I've got a lot of other books on the go, but this one is only short, so I'm ready to start when everyone else is :)
Sarah wrote: "Anyone else still up for Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions?I still plan to read it, but probably not until later in the month."
I would be! Is there a thread for it?
Sarah wrote: "Anyone else still up for Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions?I still plan to read it, but probably not until later in the month."
Yes, I read it last week. :)
Has anyone else who wanted to read Le Morte d'Arthur started it yet? I've just downloaded my Audible version to my computer this minute, but not planning to start it till I finish the Canterbury Tales. . So much for good intentions. :)

With April starting up in five days, just wanted to check in with the Darconville's Cat folks to see when exactly we want to start...it's a big book, I wouldn't mind being able to start at the beginning of the month! But it's my only Buddy read for April and I think some of you have others. :)

I think this may not be a quick, easy read either, so I want to give myself plenty of time. I'm sure Darren's schedule is quite full, so I'm eager to see what his plan is.
my April schedule is indeed "quite full" but I'm used to that ;o)I'm keen to start Darconville’s Cat in particular though, so if people want to start on 1st that's fine by me! :o)
Michele wrote: "Is there a discussion thread for it?"Looks like Darren started one here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
We have a buddy read scheduled for this month for All the King's Men, and I plan to read it. I don't remember who else wanted to read it. If anyone still plans to join in, I'll be happy to set up a thread.
Hello to all members! There are a few of us who will be buddy reading Jamaica Inn starting August 1st. We'd love all members who like Daphne du Maurier to join us! Hope to see you there! 🤗
Loretta wrote: "Hello to all members! There are a few of us who will be buddy reading Jamaica Inn starting August 1st. We'd love all members who like Daphne du Maurier to join us! ..."Hi! Did you post a new place to discuss the book?
You'd use the previous group read threads: No spoilers
Spoilers
They're actually pretty empty since the group was a lot smaller & quieter when the book was last read.

Hopefully you've got an idea of who's joining in now, I know there's quite a few people interested. If you have any more questions, just ask, or message me. I'll add War and Peace to the schedule list above and include links there too.
