I'd on waitlist for book 2. But the ratings for the series are great
I like it a lot. I read first the novella (first in the series) in the original anthology, and I've liked them all (it's a rereading)
Finally finished
Bring the Jubilee by Ward Moore. Still trying to determine my rating and or review.
I am starting The Bone Collection: Four Novellas today. As I was telling a colleague here at work, who is also a Kathy Reichs fan, I like the Tempe Brennan of the books much better than the obnoxious Tempe of the TV show; even though I liked the show and watched all of the seasons.

Just finished The Light in Summer by Mary McNear and loved it. No wonder she's a NYT best selling author! The story takes place at Butternut Lake, a most delightful place. This story is romantic and intriguing all the way to the end. There's even a wonderful mind-reading dog named Murphy. This is the first of her books I've read and it surely won't be the last!
Reading Behold the Dreamers: A Novel by Imbolo Mbue. She spoke at an author talk I went to last month. Turns out she lost her job, was job hunting (unsuccessfully) and after an interview happened to walk past a group of chauffeurs waiting at the curb for their affluent employers. Now she's a best-selling author!
Some Kind of Hero by Suzanne Brockmann 5-StarsSome kind of awesome, sexy, SEAL book. I loved it.

Currently reading
Arson Plus and Other Stories: Collected Case Files of the Continental Op: The Early Years, Volume 1 by Dashiell Hammett
I am reading and listening to
. I am in several monthly challenges and this book meets a white cover and chocolate on the cover. (So I get a two-fer!)
Finished Anne of Green Gables last week. I enjoyed revisiting these characters, even if I did cry at the end (which I knew I would).
Am now just about done with a rom-suspense by Elizabeth Lowell, Perfect Touch.

I'm on a historical romance spree - I reread
&
both by Jennifer Ashley. Just finished
by Eloisa James and am ready to start reading
by Mary Balogh
When I am not reading cozies I love true crime and also paranormal romance. How's that for polar opposites? I have very eclectic tastes.
The Fireman Who Loved Me by Jennifer Bernard 4-StarsSexy hot and wonderfully sweet

Reading the second book in Terri Blackstock's new and riveting series: If I'm Found. The first one is If I Run.

While I am waiting for several cozies from the library, I am reading
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. This world building is killing me although I understand it's necessary. But I'll need some action soon.

I have a really hard time with "World Building" and that is why I just can't get into the fantasy genre.
Now I'm reading
, book 2. I am always waiting for a bunch of cozies from the library in the meantime.
I'm not too fussed, I do love light happy great reads (probably why I'm drawn to cozies). I just finished A Guru was Born and loved it's quirky characters and the beautiful simplicity of it's author's writing.A Guru Is Born
However I really do enjoy classics like Jane Austen's books, I could certainly read Pride and Prejudice a few more times ;) Oh Mr Darcy!
Beverly wrote: "I am listening to Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie. So far, it is engrossing and funny in places."I am a huge Jennifer Crusie fan, but Maybe This Time was my least favorite book.
Smoke Screen by Sandra Brown 5-StarsSandra Brown is the best.

I am currently reading short stories inspired by the Sherlock Holmes canon:

Haven't had much time to read these last couple of days, but so far, so good!
I'm currently alternating between cozies and John Sandford's Prey series. I seem to need either a ton of or absolutely no sex and violence. No middle ground for me.
Just finished The Starling Project - I usually love Jeffery Deaver, especially his Lincoln Rhyme series, but this one didn't work for me. It was an Audible cast presentation, but the sound effects sort of ruined it for me. Currently reading Mad for the Plaid and it's just OK. Hmmm, maybe it's me and not the books?!
I little more hardcore than a cozy
by Elly Griffiths. Excellent series with our main character Ruth, smart, independent, single mother. Well writting series start with book 1 though.
The Case of the Counterfeit Criminals byJordan Stratford: a mystery for middle school/high school students.
Heather L wrote: "Reading an older rom-suspense from Harl. Intrigue, The New Deputy in Town by B.J. Daniels."I've read a few of the Cardwell Cousins series by B.J. Daniels. Sometimes you want something romantic.
I've started The Kitchen Boy: A Novel of the Last Tsar
I love this series and author.
Cold in the Shadows by Toni Anderson 5-StarsGreat romantic-suspense

This is a switch for me. I am in a challenge where there has to be a car on the cover. So this was on KU,
. It's so-so because I've seen a movie that has the same surprise. It's also slow moving. Funny, eh? Some cozies tend to be slow too.

YUP! Which is why I'm now reading an historical romance by Sarah MacLean, Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake. Thoroughly enjoying this one!
