If (ha!) we ever get a car again, it's definitely on the short list of places to go. Now that we're closer (NC instead of FL), it's not too bad of a drive. But, need car first. :/ I love water parks, but my Hubby isn't a fan. :(

Hope to get up there again, someday!

➫ I read a lot in the car today. I was having seizure activity last night and this morning so certain overprotective people dragged me along with them. I got reading done though!
2: What book(s) do you hope to finish during this read-a-thon?

I am reading from Huntington Beach, California :)

2: What book(s) do you hope to finish during this read-a-thon?
So, I just got The Name of the Wind and The Shadow of the Wind at the library today. I wasn't expecting to get the first one so quickly because there was 3 holds in place before me. So, my goal is to get as far as possible in The Name of the Wind and maybe finish Mansfield Park. I started it months ago and it needs to be finished because I really did like the book. I just tend to get a little distracted in my reading.

3: What WOBBLE challenge are you looking forward to most?

Huntington, West Virginia, USA, where it has rained steadily and fervently for the entire month of May, and continues on even now.

2: What book(s) do you hope to finish during this read-a-thon?
I've been re-reading through the Warrior Cats series, so they are on my list, The Night Watch by Sarah Walters is also immediately at my disposal, but I'm more of a go-with-the-flow type of person so honestly as long as I'm reading I don't really care what it is (unless it's terrible).

message 84: by Erika (new)

Erika 1: Where in the world are your reading today?
Day 1 I was reading in South Portland & Scarborough, Maine. East Coast, southern part of the northernmost state in USA. :)

2: What book(s) do you hope to finish during this read-a-thon?
The Martian, My Booky Wook (or at least get some progress in it) and Delierium. Yeah. I'm attacking the books that I've had on my currently reading shelf and library books while I'm at it.

3: What WOBBLE challenge are you looking forward to most?
They all sound like so much fun! I just can't wait to see what I end up reading.

4: Tell us FOUR fun random facts about you!

Fact #1 In my days as a Girl Scout, I accidentally designed the winning badge for Pondicherry, our big camping event, because I was always willing to let others borrow my stuff and I was left with only four colors to play with and am not all that artistically talented. Lo and behold, those four colors were the new ones for the handbook that year. so 1993, that badge is courtesy of me.

Fact #2 I am in a medical journal! I was the youngest person to under go the surgery I had when I was born and not only survive it but I'm some kind of amazing healer because I developed no scar tissue (they had to basically cut the tubes for my kidneys and put them back together and I had no blockages) at the actual site of the surgery. I do have some lovely (totally sincere) scars that wrap around my body. But yeah, medical journal!

Fact #3 I read an entire section of my library when I was 6-the biographies. They were kiddo biographies but I was obsessed. I was in kindergarten and already read daily on my own so rather than have me (and 3 others) hang out during reading lessons, we got to go have that portion of the day in the library. I devoured biographies that year. Then raffi and Shel Silverstein. Then anything by Dr. Seuss.

Fact #4 I read ebooks extremely fast but! my favorite place to read them (app wise) is through 3M, which links me to my library, which means I am always adding another on hold.

New England area is one part of the country I've only been to once and haven't gone to any amusement parks north of New Jersey.

You're in Maine! Oh how I wish I could visit there. I have had tons of penpals in the past and my best penpal lives in Maine. We've been friends/pals for 14ish years, but we have never met in person. We both want to, I just can't afford to get up there and she has kiddos so can't just go anywhere either.

1) Where in the world are you reading today?
Hawaii, USA

2) What books are you hoping to finish during this read-a-thon?
The Poet Prince, Living Reed: A Novel of Korea, Midnight Crossroad, Blood Rights, Torment and The Japanese Lover. There are more, but aren't there always?

The Poet Prince (Magdalene Line Trilogy, #3) by Kathleen McGowan Living Reed A Novel of Korea by Pearl S. Buck Midnight Crossroad (Midnight, Texas, #1) by Charlaine Harris Blood Rights (House of Comarré, #1) by Kristen Painter Torment (Fallen, #2) by Lauren Kate The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende

3) What WOBBLE challenge are you most looking forward to? Now that's a hard one because they all sound pretty great!

4) Tell us 4 random fun facts about you...

I love to sing! I wanted to be a professional singer until reality set in.

I read between 5-12 books at once. I don't know why, but it's always been this way. I jump from book to book even in a single day. I have no problem remembering the story line. Everyone else thinks I'm weird.

I speak in song and movie quotes. My husband and son do the movie thing, too. Some friends and co-workers get it, most do not. Sometimes I'll explain, other times I'll just say, "It's from a movie..." and walk away.

I love Disneyland! I've been there 9 times (once as an adult staying for 14 straight days!) I just love the way it makes me feel to be there. Giddy, carefree like a small child. Love the rides, atmosphere, food -- everything. Living in Hawaii the airfare alone is prohibitive, but if I ever move to California, I'm getting a annual pass and going at least once a week!! Naturally I'm dreaming of Disneyworld before I get too old to enjoy it...

I hope I do get to Maine, but I'm not a sea food person. I love to LOOK at Sea Animals :) but not eat 'em. I'm one of the pickiest eaters you'll ever meet. I'm talking beef, chicken, pasta and that's about it. All plain and easy.
