Also, a series that I return to again and again is the Children of the Promise series by Dean Hughes. The first book is Rumors of War. It follows an LDS family and their 6 children during World War II, and how they deal with the difficulties that come from living by your values when the world is in turmoil.
Lastly, I'd like to recommend the Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson. It is a story of super heroes that are actually evil, and a small group of real people who try to fight them. The books are written with amazing description - it's almost like reading a written version of a graphic novel. And I also loved that while there is some fighting and killing, it's not nearly as violent as other popular teen series right now (e.g. The Hunger Games). I just finished the series for my real life book club, and we LOVED it (even the ladies who aren't big fans of sci-fi). The first book is called Steelheart.

A series I read years ago and have been wanting to read again is the Song of Acadia series by Janette Oke and T. Davis Bunn. The first book is called The Meeting Place
This series is about the friendship between a French woman and an English Woman in 18th Century Canada at a time with great political tension between the English and French.

The Books of Bayern series by Shannon Hale. The first book is The Goose Girl. I read the first one and really enjoyed it but just never did read the rest of the series. It would be fun to reread the first one and then finish the whole series.
The Shunning by Beverly Lewis. I've read several of her other books (the Abram's Daughters series is a favorite of mine) so I would love to read another series by her. This book (the first in her Heritage of Lancaster County series) is her highest rated book so it feels like a must read since I've enjoyed some of her others so much.

I would like to nominate SANDS the first in the Sharani Series by Kevin L. Nielsen it is well written and will capture you from the first chapter! If you like fantasy you will love this series!

I would like to do that too!

Also Here Burns My Candle which is basically a re-telling of the story of Ruth but set in Scotland in the time of Bonnie Prince Charlie. There are only 2 books in the series.

Narnia is another favorite of mine and Cinder sounds interesting!
I want to nominate either Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief (Rick Rierdon) or the Work and Glory series by Gerald Lund!
